This review is for Crossing Collectibles but for their Frank and Sons store. Unfortunately, that store does not have a page for review but I feel that this is a fair review as it reflects off their employees there.
I recently visited the store with a friend to sell some of our Pokémon singles, valued at a few hundred dollars. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The offer we received was roughly 50% or less of the expected value, with no room for negotiation.
While it's reasonable to walk away from a deal if the price isn't right, the issue we faced was the employee's dismissive attitude. We requested a simple price breakdown for each card, considering we were only selling 8 to 10 cards. This seemed like a fair request, but the employee brushed it off, saying, "I didn't keep track, I just totaled it all together; the price is for all."
When we politely asked for a moment to explore other offers, as the price was significantly lower than expected, the employee replied (paraphrased), "No, either you sell it now at that price, or we won't be buying it." This approach felt like a pressure tactic, knowing their offer was significantly below market value.
We decided to leave and seek other opinions, which confirmed our suspicions about the low offer. Going forward, we wonât be conducting any further business with this store.
If you plan to sell to this store, be very cautious about their pricing and do your research. Many other places offer better deals and won't pressure you with ultimatums or fear of...
Read morereally disappointed with the experience purchasing from here. when i first walked into the store I inquired about other tcgâs they might have and the employee at the front said that âthey donât carry trash gamesâ. i do not collect for the chase so when I inquired about a binder, instead of telling me the price, the front attendant just said very rudely to look at the front. I asked about a booster pack and he told me it was $75. i was delighted and expressed that this is a fair price compared to other stores. When i went to checkout he then claimed it was $80 per box and not the $75 as stated previously. when i pointed it out he changed it immediately but imagine if i did not notice the upcharge? finally, the place is ran as a âboys clubâ they are not friendly to beginners nor do they really want you there. ive never felt so unwelcomed in a lgs in my life and when a group of the employees friends ran into the building, he immediately ignored me and they continued to have these loud uncomfortable conversations until i exited the store. i did get a singular $2 card for free though. i do not believe it was worth the humiliation i...
Read moreWhen I attended the recent one-piece pre-release event, it was one of the worst experiences. It was super unorganized. They raised the price from what the Bandi app stated, and I still did not receive the full kit for participating in a pre-release event. This is very disappointing; at no point was there clear communication. I was told the store didn't have enough for everyone, and if they gave one to me, everyone would want one. They didn't want to choose a favorite but didn't suggest a way to receive the promo fairly. Given the number of players there, I left after confirming that I was not going to receive my promo card. I am sure all of his favorites did get the card, by the way. Do not go to this shop if you are new...
