This may have been the worst massage experience Iâve had. I usually go to a spot in Santa Monica, but was running errands in culver and decided to give this place a try. $20/hr, so I booked a 90 minute foot and body massage. Upon arrival, it smelled really stuffy, like there was zero ventilation in the building. I was directed to a room with 8-10 other tables. Weird, but okay. The bed was noticeably shorter than your average massage table. I was told to sit, and the man reappeared with a bucket of hot water for my feet. I was instructed to lay back with my feet in the bucket. After about 10 minutes, another man appears, pokes his head in the curtain and says hello. Uh.. hi?.. he leaves, then returns and starts the âmassageâ. I use that term loosely because there is no doubt in my mind that he is not actually a certified massage therapist. He rubbed my face. With dry hands for 19 minutes. 19. After rubbing my face, he moved to playing with my ear lobes. As if that wasnât weird enough, he decided to take it a step further and literally stick his fingers into my ear canals, as if these were his personal ears and he was digging for wax. That lasted about 2 minutes before I said okay, thatâs enough. When I moved to my arms, it literally felt like he was administering Indian burns as some weird sort of punishment, as he used no oil. Iâm pretty sure the six hairs I once had on my arm were rubbed off during this portion of this painful âmassageâ. He then moved to my feet where he lathered them in oil and just rubbed them for 15 minutes each. đAround this time, a half naked old man entered for his massage, two table down. Between his humming/moaning and the overall creepy environment, Iâd decided Iâd had enough. I couldnât do that for another 45 minutes. I grabbed my belongings and headed to the front to pay for the time Iâd been in there. I was asked if I had something else to do, to which I responded âI just wasnât comfortableâ. He kept asking how I planned on tippingâ which I wasnât planning on doing since the experience was so odd and unpleasant. I ended up tipping cash, while making a mental note to leave a review. I have massages at least twice a month. Never have I been in an environment like this one. Super weird. Super creepy. No part of this was calming, relaxing or soothing. Would...
Read moreI have never wanted a massage to end as quickly as I did today. Bad business, save your money and go somewhere else.
The inside of the establishment was dark and smelled like cigarette smoke. The massage tables were old, hard and cheap. There was a cut out of a hole on one of the table ends. It was supposed to allow you to rest your head/face â wrong! Very uncomfortable! The masseur had rough and dry hands. I had requested a one hour deep tissue massage for $39.99, the massage was horrible. It felt like my boyfriend was massaging me. There was no technique, just a lot of pressing and pushing. My feet were not massaged despite the fact that I explicitly asked for it. After the so-called massage, I headed to the front desk. My total was rung up as $41. When I asked why, I was advised that there was a $1 surcharge because I was paying with a credit card. He then proceeds to pull a sign from behind the candy dish that read the same. That still didnât explain why the charge was $41 and not $40.99. On top of everything, the masseur was pacing back and forth by me, I guess waiting for a tip. I didnât tip for the all reasons listed below. ...
Read moreSeeing as this place has a lot of good reviews I decided to check it out. As I walked in I was greeted by a beautiful masseuse (not that, that matters) that walked me to my room. She left me there to get ready and lay on the table. A few minutes later, in walked another lady. I asked her if the first lady that walked me in could massage me. The lady said yes and went to go call her. I could hear them talking but I don't know what they were saying. All I know is that the first lady didn't want to work. When I asked the second lady what's wrong she proceeded to hand me my money back and told me "no massage". I don't understand how this place has really good reviews but they don't seem to want to work. With her actions she pretty much told...
