Oof, ok so where to start? Staff is great 5/5, they're honestly a big reason why I didn't score this place lower. The place itself looks pretty nice and is spacious enough. Wait time was 15 - 25mins which wasn't too bad till the food came out about 35 minutes later. There were a fair amount of people but it was not anywhere close to being packed so I'm not sure why the wait was longer than expected.
Now the food itself: 1.5/5 at the best. Their boneless chicken wasn't too bad, soft inside but crunchy outside but way too much sauce that it started to make the chicken a bit soggy. I got two rice bowls, one of which was kimchi fired rice which ended up being a huge let down. I was really looking forward to the kimchi bowl but it didn't taste like kimchi at all. It actually didn't taste like anything really just kind of bland. I don't remember what the other bowl was but it had way too much sauce and had crunchy chicken bits that were way too hard. The fries were ok tho so there's that.
I got all this to share with my family, but no one really liked it. No one finished eating it, and not to be dramatic but some of our stomachs are hurting. So this place isn't on our list of places to go back to.
Lastly the prices: honestly overpriced for what you get. Not worth the price since the food wasn't good and the wait time being a bit to long for to-go food, honestly all I got from this was a stomach ache really. I think their chicken could be pretty good if they were less heavy handed with the amount of sauce. Place looked cool and the staff was amazing but I regret going. I give it a 3.5/5 (Google doesn't do half stars so 3/5) and again it's just because the staff was great otherwise I probably would've just given it a 1/5 overall tbh.
P.s really random but I really liked the box the...
Read moreI really REALLY wanted to like this place, but I'm sad to say it's generous to even award bb.q chicken 3 stars.
Let's start with service. Came in on a Saturday evening at 6. Somewhat busy but many open tables. After looking at the menu above the register for a moment, I was asked if I was dining in or out, and then was asked to seat myself for dine in. It took what felt like 15 minutes just to be seen and have my order taken after sitting. Service was friendly, but slow... food came out slow as well, but it's made to order so I'll cut the food wait some slack.
Moving onto the food. I ordered an 8pc spicy galbi wings, original deokbokki with cheese, some rice and radish. The deokbokki and radish came out first, and was pleasant enough. The rice cakes had great chewy texture and the sauce was fantastically spicy and tasty! Things were picking up.. until the main event.
Let's get straight to it. The SPICY galbi wing sauce was not spicy. At all. In fact, it was the complete opposite. It was so sweet, it felt like I was eating candied chicken. The chicken wings themselves were juicy, crunchy, and an alright size. But man that sauce.... complete heart breaker.
I was truly expecting more from bbq chicken. It fails to fill the void that Bonchon left after it died a slow death at the start of the pandemic to it's decline in quality and eventual closure this year. I'm willing to give it's spicier sauces a shot. But maybe I'll try take out instead and hope for a better experience in both service and food. Upon this review, I cannot justify the premium price for sub premium...
Read moreWent with some friends today for lunch and the wings and tea were great! I love the options they have! I ordered the brown sugar bubble tea and 8 of the Galbi wings. The tea wasn’t too sweet & the wings were crispy and fresh. The flavor was exactly what I expected! My friends also really enjoyed their food and tea :) We loved the K-pop that was playing and the environment was pretty chill. We all spend about $20-35 on our food.
I recommend adding pictures for the entire menu on the kiosk. There were some things we were curious about but there were no pictures to show what we’d be ordering.
Since we were taking food to go, there was only one kiosk and I guess the two employees can’t take to go orders??? With a group of 5 people and one kiosk, it took a long time for everyone to put in their orders. One friend that put in her order first even went to Wegmans and came back saying “y'all are still ordering?” They weren’t super friendly and one girl was on her phone the majority of the time. Kinda killed the vibe.
I’d still come back for the food ONLY after calling and placing a to go order ahead of time. Ordering and waiting for food took kinda long (30-35 min for fresh food).
In comparison, Not Your Aveage Joes has Korean BBQ wings that are larger, come with a delicious sauce and are cheaper…since it’s convenient to get tea here too, I’ll come back. But if I only want wings and no...
