I travel quite a bit so I've worked out in alot of gyms, hotel gyms to outdoor ones. Cooper Fitness Center is hands down, on the top of the list! We've been trying to stay at this Fitness Retreat since last year so we finally got it done this past weekend. Now that we've been, I regret that we didn't go sooner or stayed a little longer. I honestly didn't want to leave, it was so nice. Extremely clean facilities with staff cleaning up and maintaining the machines during my entire work out. All of the machines are very nice and modern as are the weights. This includes the bikes, treadmills, elliptical's,etc. No old, rusted or squeaky anything in this place. There's plenty of Mats, Foam Rollers and whatever else you can think of as well. When I went it wasn't very busy(both days), so I was able to access everything without having to wait... big plus. The staff was very friendly as were the members I spoke with. Also, it's in a good location so our drive to restaurants, etc wasn't bad at all. If you're into fitness and heading to Dallas, I highly recommend staying at the Cooper Fitness Resort. I can't...
Read moreFirst let me say, Cooper is beautiful, clean and has the most friendly staff and instructors. The only reason for my lower star rating is due to my experiences with the group fitness and kids club clash, which really were the main reasons why we decided to join. As a mom, I was really hoping to bring my baby into the kids club so I could do classes and get back into pre-baby shape. We toured the facility and I was so pleased to see plenty of younger patrons, which differed from my previous impression of the club so we decided to join. Unfortunately I’ve now learned that the kids club hours do not correspond with classes geared towards younger members. I have done quite a few classes and have yet to break a true sweat. I have learned that the harder classes for younger people (non 1/2 or classics classes) are primarily in the evening and early morning which makes sense however kids club is not available at those times. This is disappointing but I will keep trying to find a solution outside of just paying for training only for...
Read moreI've been attending CFC for years, and it's the best gym I've ever worked out at. The equipment is clean, the staff is friendly, & it has everything. As in, there's a spa, circular indoor track, traditional weightlifting area, basketball court, olympic pool, tennis courts, outdoor track around the beautiful campus, a research institute, a medical clinic, and a hotel. The locker rooms are also very nice, with a sauna, steam room, & hot tub. Also, I can personally attest to the trainers being very knowledgeable and will work you hard in training sessions.
I will say that the membership fees and initiation fee can feel very high, but it depends on what you're getting out of it. If you're attending group classes, working out regularly, etc. you'll probably love it. Also, it feels like most of the members are 60+ years old (with a small contingent of 20-40 year old members), but that may be due to the time I...
