Crecer is a mixed experience, to say the least.
My wife has curly hair, and finding a stylist who understands different hair textures is tough. On our first visit, the staff was kind and attentive, but my recent experience was the opposite.
My appointment was early in the morning, and the confirmation emails showed that the stylist had accepted it. I didn’t mind the commute since I had heard great things about Crecer. However, when I arrived, the lights were off, the open sign was off, and no one was inside.
I waited ten minutes after my appointment time, hoping someone would show up. During this, I called my wife to check if there were any instructions in the emails, but there was nothing beyond booking confirmation. I also called the business number, but it immediately went to a dial-up with no voicemail options.
Since we had no way to contact anyone and I couldn’t get in, I assumed the appointment was mistakenly accepted by an automated system. My wife had good communication when she booked her appointment, including follow-up questions about hair care, so this felt odd. I decided to wait until the salon officially opened, hoping to resolve things. During this time, there was no attempt from the stylist to contact us. The only message we received was an email saying I missed my appointment and my wife had been charged a $50 late cancellation fee.
My wife then called Crecer to clarify. When she reached the receptionist, the response was cold and rude. Despite explaining from our perspective the salon was closed, the receptionist insisted the stylist was inside, out of view, and that they had arrived before opening. When my wife mentioned no one answered when we called, the receptionist said that we should have messaged a different number. However, none of the emails provided an alternate number or mentioned policies about early appointments.
The receptionist offered a new appointment time, but by then, we had lost trust. The cancellation fee was whatever, but the disrespect toward my wife during the whole situation was disappointing. She had hoped to give me the same great experience she had for our anniversary, but instead, it turned into a stressful ordeal.
While other reviews are positive for different stylists, our experience was unfortunate. We wanted to support a Latina-owned business with the right expertise, but this experience overshadowed our want to...
Read moreThe salon is beautiful and everyone is so nice. I truly wanted to love this place and I gave it multiple chances. I am not a confrontational person and I feel uncomfortable telling the stylist to their face that I am unhappy with my hair at the end. I usually let it go because hair grows, it's whatever. However, there seems to be a lack of some stylists admitting when they don't fully understand what you want, even with reference pictures, I've had 3 different stylists cut my hair and only Nitzia was the one to ask me to elaborate when she didn't understand and gave me what I wanted. The other 2 haircuts were not bad but they weren't what I asked for. I also ended up getting the bottom half of my hair dyed, my hair barely even touches my shoulders it's very short, and yet it took 7hours to do so. There was no prior communication from the stylist stating it would take that long, I had to cancel my plans as I was not expecting to be there all day. She also did not style it like I asked, she asked if I wanted it styled like the reference picture and then proceeded to just add product, diffuse it a bit and let the rest air dry, I walked out with super damp hair. I've had my hair dyed before elsewhere, multiple locations, and my hair was longer in length and yet it has never taken so many hours nor had there been such a communication issue. I would recommend this place every once in a while for hair treatment, it's great for trying to get your hair healthy again. But if you're wanting more services, be aware that not everyone admits they don't understand your vision and you'll probably have to ask them if they understand or actually speak up and see/request that it's what you were wanting from your...
Read moreUnfortunately this place was just, disappointing. My appointment was canceled upon arrival with no notice, after booking a month out. I showed up excited with ample time considering it was my first experience booking at Crecer. I was referred by so many friends to try this place out. Shame.
No one greeted me so I asked for assistance, they told me to wait because my stylist was still with another client. After waiting 15 minutes they had the receptionist explain to me how the stylist I booked wasn’t feeling well and couldn’t fulfill my appointment. They wanted to reschedule because no one else was available to service me at that time. The nice receptionist offered to cut my hair but she would be multitasking answering phones and checking the customers out during our session.
Had they been more considerate of the clients time and notified me prior to arrival I would have understood the circumstances and consider coming back to give them another chance. They wasted my time and all they could offer was a future discount or “care package”
They asked me to follow up in an email how they could make this experience better and by no surprise, they still have not responded
Had It been the other way around, they would have charged my card for a late cancellation fee and probably not allow me as return customer
I can’t even rate this place based on their style services which is just unfortunate and unprofessional on their part for lack of communication
It’s a 1 star for the aesthetics
