Katy Trail Uptown Apartments — Local services in Dallas

This past month has been an absolute NIGHTMARE while living at the MKT and a prime example of gross negligence on the part of the building management. It started with the fact that it took them over a month to get me an actual keys to the building and my front door. I asked for my keys multiple times and once I asked the Regional Manager for the keys, I was confronted with a rude and incorrect response from Marissa that I had received notice my keys were ready for pickup - which was not the case. Sadly, this was not the worst of my experiences with the MKT staff.

After a string of apartment break ins (NOT unlocked apts, actual breaking down of doors) I asked to make an appointment with the property manager. Turns out, the property has been without a manager for months and the regional manager was there for damage control. My email and phone calls both went unanswered, so I went by in person. In the meeting, the Regional Manager, Theresa, gave me a lackluster response that in no way differs from the measures that failed in the previous 6 months. I left asking for a change of apartment units, which took a week to get a response on. And in my various attempts to get information on the new unit, I was in no way notified of any significant charges, fees,or specifics until I specifically inquired more than once. It is evident that a significant lack of any communication is a pattern from this property staff. To top it off, in the past week since speaking with the regional manager, it has been brought to my attention from other residents that there have been multiple floodings in several apartments that management did not notify residents of, multiple car thefts (entire vehicles taken) since September, poor package management since 2022, and other breaks ins/unauthorized guests sleeping in the hallways that management NEVER notified residents of at any point. These problems are persistent and the management team has only offered bandaid solutions or dismissed concerns all together. The continued crime that is allowed to take at the MKT has stripped every sense of security I have to even sleep in my own apt. I do NOT recommend moving to this building at any point while these concerns go...

The most beautiful and high end apartment I’ve lived in. Location is great. Being on the trail is great. However, my vehicle has been broken into twice while parked in the gated garage in the 1 year I’ve lived here (I keep nothing in my vehicle). After the first time, the previous management company hired a security service to sit in the garage. The guy just sat in his car with his seat laid all the way back but it seemed to work as the crime went away. Once the current management company took over (high mark), they did away with the guard in favor of a remotely monitored camera system. There’s been at least two car break-in sprees in the few months since that change—the last of which included the thief’s pulling a gun on our courtesy officer who was notified of the crime by a resident, not the camera company. It’s sucks to pay for a high end apartment and live in constant fear you’ll walk out to smashed windows in the morning. I don’t feel the new management company has done enough to make me feel safe. Despite how nice the place is, it’s been a stressful and disheartening experience...

The Katy Trail Uptown is nothing short of superb. This is the nicest, most well-managed property I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The management team goes above and beyond to ensure my well-being, check on me, and care for any needs I may have. A special thank you to Natalie, Monica and Mandy for being so amazing - you ladies make this place! The maintenance staff is excellent, ensuring that any issues are resolved less than 24 hours after submitting a ticket (an insanely fast turnaround that I’ve failed to see at other properties). A special thank you to Juan and his team, I cannot put into words how much they have helped me and made my life easier. Last but certainly not least, our cleaning crew ensures common areas are always left spotlessly clean, thank you ladies for always keeping our home beautiful!
