Unbelievable! For a week and a half we communicated back and forth with Felipé, a manager at this location who assured us we had a reserved room for 20 for an event on Sunday 1/21/18. We were to pay a fee of $50 for plates and utensils since we were going to provide our own food, and not buying directly from their menu. We were also allotted a 2 hour time limit for our event. Great! Everything is set. Over $1000 was spent on food and decorations, come they day of the event, we called in to ask how early we can set up and at this point we were talking to the GM, a new voice, since everything had been arranged and communicated with Felipe, she was confused to say the least. According to the G.M, this was against their policy. How on Earth do your employees not know the policy? How does Felipe the manager not know the policy? He himself provided the dollar amount for the 'plates and utensils' fee. It was a week and half's worth of back and forth with him. Confirming, checking, asking what could be brought and what couldn't. All invitations were made out to this location. What a great nightmare and inconvenience! Just a couple of hours until the event and with over $1000 worth of food and decorations we were left without a place to hold the event. Food gone to waste, event cancelled. Who will refund my food and decoration expense? What makes this worse some guest traveled over 5 hours to make it, just to be sent back home. The GM, decides thay her best approach was to test our 'logic', she kept saying "do you really think it's logical for a restaurant to allow such thing" That's why we called Genius! We weren't going to watlz in on Sunday at 4:30 P.M. out of thin air with guests and our own food. Of course not! All this was confirmed with Felipe (Manager) before hand. GM was very unapologetic and even threatened with a lawyer if we did not stop asking for an explanation or a solution to THEIR mistake. I would definitely give it less than 1 star...
Read moreWhat a disappointing experience. We ordered our Thanksgiving dinner about a week and a half before Thanksgiving and picked up on Thanksgiving day. When I picked up, they did not check the order with me to make sure everything was correct. When I checked it at the restaurant before I left, I noticed that the portions were completely off. Not only did they give us insanely tiny portions, but the lids were not properly placed on the containers, and you can tell it was thrown together. When I brought it to the managers attention, he did not apologize, but proceeded to bring out our correct order. The food quality was terrible and this is the last time I will ever order anything catered or to go from this restaurant. After years of ordering their holiday food, I am sad to see it go down the drain. Never again, lesson learned. Almost $300 thrown away. I had to consistently apologize all night long for the poor food quality, and the fact that the portions were so off. I ended up just leaving the restaurant unhappy because I spent an additional 30 minutes walking them through the correct order. Save yourself the trouble and do not place catering orders at this restaurant. I am not sure what has happened over the last few months but their quality and service has gone down tremendously. The management does not care and should be replaced immediately. What a sad and disappointing experience, sad to say, we will...
Read moreFrom the moment you step into this warm and inviting cafe, you're transported to a quaint French bistro that's both cozy and elegant.
The tomato basil soup is a must-try, with its rich, velvety texture and perfectly balanced flavors. While the Caesar salad was just okay, it's still a refreshing and light complement to any meal.
Moving on to the entrees, the creamy pesto pasta with shrimp is a standout dish that's both creamy and flavorful, with perfectly cooked shrimp adding a touch of sweetness to the dish. The chicken la Madeleine is another highlight, cooked to perfection and served with a delectable side of creamy mashed potatoes.
And let's not forget about dessert! The creme brulee is an indulgent treat that's both creamy and satisfying, with the perfect amount of caramelized sugar on top. And of course, no trip to La Madeleine is complete without trying their signature Madeline cookies, which are the perfect sweet ending to any meal.
Overall, La Madeleine in Mockingbird, Dallas is a must-visit destination for those seeking a taste of France in the heart of Texas. I would definitely return to this location.
