If you love being followed around the store and donāt have blonde hair and blue eyes, then this is the location for you! Despite being a repeat customer and spending over $100 every time I shop here, I am greeted with the same āpolite hostilityā and Iām over it frankly. I watched as several other people who did not look like me today were able to browse and shop in peace. Meanwhile I had store representatives hiding next to stock across each aisle and fervently questioning me as if to constantly keep an eye on me.
I have noticed this across employees throughout the years so Iām inclined to believe it is company culture.
Someone really needs to inform these ladies that in their location, majority of teachers are minorities and that we can shop there without stealing. I do not see the point in isolating a lot of your customer base by treating them as criminals the second that they walk through the door.
I drove 45 minutes just to leave with nothing. Contrary to the smug look on the clerks face, it was not because I couldnāt afford the items, it was because I was having a hard time suppressing my frustration and decided to leave. In the past Iāve made purchases despite this treatment to avoid the shame that is paired with the assumption that you are going to steal, however as of today, I refuse. You donāt want to treat a black customer like you would treat anyone else walking into your store, then you donāt want my black dollars.
For anyone who has made it this far in this review every single item that they sell in this store can be found online, sometimes at better quality, stronger varieties, at more reasonable price points. Carson Delarosa is a fantastic alternative brand. If you buy items on teacher pay teacher, then youāre helping another teacher. If they want to treat paying customers like they are not wanted, then we need to start paying someone else.
I will not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice store, it was my first time visiting. Another reviewer recently said that they were followed around. I was, too...I was getting a bit put off by that. To be honest, I think they're following us around to observe any sources of contamination because of COVID. The reason I say that is because I heard the employees loudly having a conversation talking about the behavior of prior customers that came in the store. Conversations about customers really shouldn't be taking place out on the floor, in my opinion. It's kind of toxic and unprofessional. Maybe keep it for the back room or a weekly meeting or a bulletin board? If Lakeshore Learning is so uncomfortable with us touching the items in the store, maybe they should put the pricing and details in convenient locations so we don't have to pick up the packaging?...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMan, this place was like a toy store for a person who's new to homeschooling and being a stay at home mom with a 13yo, 10yo and 1yo. I originally went in to get a large number of posters laminated (they LITERALLY have the best price: 40-something cents) I got 46 yards of laminating and the total was $22. They had such a large variety of toys, all educational of course and so many more items I found would be useful. This was my first visit to a teacher's store so I may be excited a bit but it was definitely more than I expected a teacher's store to be. Also, the customer service was amazing! They walked me through the laminating process and made sure to check...
