We recently purchased two items from Ethan Allen: a floor sample coffee table and a custom loveseat. Our expectation was to receive high-quality service throughout the transaction, but unfortunately, our experience did not meet these expectations. A few days after completing our purchases, I received a voicemail from Ethan Allen. The message stated that I needed to call back with my credit card number by the end of the day, or I would forfeit the floor sample coffee table. There was no mention of the custom loveseat in this communication. This approach made me feel as though I was dealing with a pushy, low-end furniture salesman, which was confusing given that both items had already been paid for using the same credit card. Eventually, I learned that the purchase for the coffee table had not been processed correctly on their end, but the communication from Ethan Allen gave me the impression that the mistake was mine. In addition to the payment confusion, we experienced delays in receiving fabric samples for the loveseat and pillows. We had to request these samples three times before they were finally provided. This was my first experience with Ethan Allen. We have shopped at both higher-end and lower-end furniture stores in the past, and unfortunately, this was the worst service we have...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with the quality of the custom table I received. Right in the middle of the piece is a giant mill mark – a mechanical tool pattern from the lumber milling process – that the woodworker should have sanded out or avoided by using an intact piece of lumber. Instead, it was left front and center, ruining the look of what was supposed to be a premium custom item.
When I brought this to the Mindy Matuszak’s attention, they refused to acknowledge it as a defect or issue replacement. I was told it’s a “natural part of the wood” and that they expect every piece of furniture to have two or three of these. This is completely unacceptable for something advertised as high-quality, handcrafted furniture.
Poor workmanship, poor customer service, and zero accountability. I would not recommend them to anyone who values quality and...
Read moreFor the price of their furniture the customer service is appalling. 4-6 weeks delivery actually means 12-14 weeks which I can sort of understand as the pieces are hand crafted but then the designers need to be more accurate when selling you their pieces. We ordered 4 pieces of furniture all of which were ready at different times and the warehouse wouldn’t hold onto them until the last piece arrived which meant 3 days had to be taken off work to accommodate an 8 hour delivery window. 2 days before they confirm a 4 hour window but they confirmed at the end of the day (4:55pm) and when I called back at 5:03pm to reschedule the delivery they were closed for the day. When they called me back the next morning, they wanted to charge me $100 for rescheduling outside the 24 hr window. Love the furniture, the experience on the other hand was...
