The exterior is always the first detail seen by the guests. This location is greatly lacking in its grounds maintenance. The check in process was easy however it did take much longer than usual. Let’s come back to this detail at the end. Entering my room, I had the two room, one bedroom queen which has a separating door that divides the bedroom from the living area. The door was no longer aligned correctly therefore the dead bolt required some heavy hip action in order for it to extend it o the door jam for use. The kitchen are is spacious however the cook top in my room had been previously broken and it appeared that the pieces were glued back in place. Overall, the kitchen was lacking in dishes and the racks of the dishwasher were badly in need of replacing. The sofa had SEVERAL exposed staples in the upright of the backing. Possibly another attempt to repair something, but I am not certain. Flat screen televisions in both room are dated but work well. Don’t get all excited about the channels as there were not as many as expected. The blackout curtains were shorter than the width of the window. Ongoing damage had taken its toll. The bed was comfortable, as usual with CWS, however the linens were not even close to how they are supposed to be when the bed was resheeted! The sheet tags were on the head end of the bed and the fitted sheet was wrong-side out. The bathroom was spacious however the tank lid of the toilet had been replaced with what appears to be a plastic serving tray. REALLY? The toilet paper holder had black duct tape partially holding it in place (that was quite funny).
Back to the check in. THIEVES! And nothing short of it! And one liar! You can place a thief in jail and keep him from thieving but a liar will always lie! The check in process includes a $25 incidentals hold per stay! Not per day! The process should be one in which the total of both the stay + incidentals is the number to be transacted against your card. For example, if the cost for one night of stay is $85 (taxes and all) and incidentals is $25, then your card should be swiped once for an authorization of $110. The next day, when you check out and the folio is closed, if there are no other charges, the the final transaction should close the folio for $85 and the $25 is immediately returned to your account. It does not take ten days when done honestly, and correctly. However, when the hotel transaction one authorization for $85 and then a second for $25, they will have your $25 for the next ten days! And DONT come at me with I am wrong! Again, I have stayed at MANY CWS and most do it correctly however there are a few that do the above mentioned wrong procedure. I have stayed 79 nights with IHG this year, 137 with Marriott, 43 with Hyatt and many other brands as well. The next morning after my first night, I contacted the front desk to mention that I need to add an additional night but that I would be changing credit cards however I would need to do it when I arrive as I had been out for errands. I was basically pressured into being back by 1:00 to have this completed but not given a reason why. Well I guess I can change my plans and return ASAP. I am unsure why the pressure especially on a Spire member. When I arrived and handed the lady my card, not only did she transact the room rate but also another incidentals hold. When I asked why (my reservation was still in play therefore the first hold was still in their possession) I was told that it was an automatic process and it was my fault because I had changed credit cards. The dispute began. She claimed that the $25 was refunded however it is still pending on their part. I called the credit card company and they have not yet received a refund transaction from the hotel. I do not like thieves and I do not like liars! Inept business practices bring this rating to a...
Read moreMy family stayed here June 4th for my daughter’s surgery on the 5th. This is not a family establishment at all! This is a go to your room and lock your door till you leave place. The whole online representation of this place is bull.
Now let’s go to the room. Ok not bad. Roomy, looks decent. Pretty clean. The air was barely cooling the room tho. No big deal it just for the night. We put the babies to bed, and we go to bed to wake up to my 1 yo whining after midnight. Get up to check on him and he is burning up and then we realize the room is HOT. And I don’t mean just a little warm I mean HOT! we check the thermostat on the wall and it is set at 66 but the room temp says 86. We feel the air coming out of the unit and it is straight HOT air blowing HARD. And it’s making weird noises. So we shut the air off. 20 minutes later it is still blowing hot air and won’t turn off. I go to the front desk tell the woman about the problem, literally say everything I just typed and she rudely says “did you try the thermostat on the wall?” ??? Seriously??? Anywho. She proceeds to give us another room, ok great. And tells us we have 30 mins to pack all our stuff with 1 screaming kid and 1 sleeping kid and move rooms at 1am before we are locked out of it!! Wow ok. That isn’t very professional. The next room was ok. The air worked. The thermostat on the wall was clearly burnt up. Black like it had been on fire before. And the pull out bed was dirty. After all that I couldn’t sleep because I was worried the place was going to burn down in the middle of the night from the ac messing up and not shutting off. This place clearly has electrical issues with their ac units and I won’t be surprised when a fire breaks out. The key card/locks are finicky, had to insert like 20 times to get the second room door to unlock.
Hallways are dirty and hot as well, and I guess the lock on the side entry door is broken because we were able to just walk in without a key.

Read moreThis was the worst experience I've ever had since I've been traveling this last year around the country.
I stayed at a Sonesta Suites in Tennessee for 5 months so when I was relocating to Dallas I figured I would just use the same brand because it was such a great experience.
I booked online through Hotels of America. Nowhere in the booking did it say that I would have to leave a $100 deposit for incidentals which would have been fine EXCEPT my bank, an actual bank, is an online bank. Not prepaid a real bank with a checking and savings account.
When I got there and gave the nice girl named Casey my ID and debit card the guy at the front desk with the 6 inch nails and long hair, told me they would not accept that card. Which meant he would not allow me to check in which was ALREADY paid. He did not want to be helpful at all and it was clear he was very intimidating to the young girl.
I called the booking company and they told me they would refund it if the front desk would give me a letter or email stating that they approve me being fully refunded.
I went back inside and he wouldn't do it. He kept saying they have to call and the booking agency told me that was not what they would do. He just shrugged his shoulders. Once he left the very nice girl Casey wrote me an email so I would hopefully be refunded.
I do not think the company should be represented clearly by someone who is trying to wears woman face and is a very large man that tries to intimidate others.
I have every intention of writing to their corporate headquarters. His behavior was unacceptable and I would suggest people go to another Sonesta or different...
