I have given this place so many chances but I am disappointed every time. I’ve grown out my natural nails so that I can get regular manicures and today was the third time I have come in with long nails and been left with stubby nails. In fact, all my nails are different lengths and different shapes so I had them quit before getting to paint. Because of the last few times I have been in, I made sure to tell the nail tech that I didn’t want her to touch the length. I wanted her to just file them, leave the length and paint them. I booked a $35 manicure which should have been easy money for them. They seem to have a distaste for regular manicures and are purposely trying to make me stop coming in. Today I came in with uniform long nails I had filed and shaped the day before. in the picture I posted, the first two nails match the shape I had when I came in, the last two (lopsided) nails are the shape the rest of my nails are now. You can’t even really call it a shape. I had one broken nail and even told her how I wanted her to shape it, she ignored me. I am writing this review because my experience keeps getting worse with every visit. A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I came in for pedicures and I wanted a manicure at the same time. Three times during my pedicure, I asked if there was somebody coming to do my nails. No one ever came, so the kind lady who was doing my toes did a free polish change for me. The time I came in for a pedicure before that, they asked if I wanted my toe nails cut, I said no but they cut them down to the nail bed anyways. The techs seem to completely disregard whatever instructions you give them. When I used to get a dip manicure, my shape was consistently wrong. One time I asked for coffin nails and the filed the sides of my nails in so deep on the sides that I bled. On top of the many bad experiences, I kept coming back because every once in a while, they got it right. I do want to make one more comment about the salon itself, it smells strange. I haven’t been able to figure out exactly what the smell is but it doesn’t smell like chemicals or perfumes, it smells like something is burning or it smells like a bad food smell. Onyx Nail Bar truly exceeded my expectations with their service and attention to detail. From the moment I stepped in, I was warmly greeted, setting the tone for a fantastic experience. The salon has an impressive selection of nail colors, catering to every preference whether it be regular polish, gel, or dip powders.

Upon selecting my colors, I was promptly escorted to my chair and pleasantly surprised to be offered a complimentary cocktail from their drink menu. This instantly made me feel valued as a customer.

The efficiency of the technicians working in tandem for my mani/pedi was impressive, cutting down on overall appointment time without sacrificing quality. Both technicians were not only skilled but also incredibly friendly and accommodating, enhancing the overall atmosphere of relaxation.

I had a specific design in mind for my nails, inspired by a video I had saved on social media, and I was thrilled to see it recreated to perfection. Let's call it The balayaged french tip velvet cat eye with each nail painted in a different color. It turned out even better than I imagined, and I couldn't be happier with the result.

The pampering extended beyond my nails to my toes and legs, leaving me feeling rejuvenated and ready to flaunt my new look in open-toe shoes or sandals. First time here. This was my first time also getting an almond shaped nail with extensions. When I sat down, the gentleman Dan was as assigned to my nails. I explained what I wanted (I came in with no idea or direction) .. and he got it done. He was very nice and pleasant. I expressed my concerns of the nail shape I’d chosen and he reassured me that he’d make it nice and if I didn’t like it he would change it. Welp! I love the nail shape and color.. & I will return

Sooo I returned. 3 weeks later. Made an appointment with Dan again and he rocked my nails! I’m changing my once 5 stars to a 1 star not because of him but because of their billing practices. I would most definitely see him again but I won’t because the establishment is a crook. This is the second time the lady at the front just adds random charges to the bill at the end. Today I was charged an extra $10 for an “express mani” even though I was there for an hour and a half and no that’s not what I went in for. I was also charged for solar nails and I DID NOT GET SOLAR!!! She’s a thief!!! I love Dans work, but I DO NOT like feeling scammed and taken advantage of. It feels greedy and this is why people go to independent techs versus these salons. I will be spreading the word. They should definitely use their price chart as it is written and if any changes they should be discussed well before I’m putting my card on the machine. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! I will be reporting this establishment to the board...
