The Grove on Forest Lane — Local services in Dallas

The Avenues of Park Forest has been a God-send for my 93-year-old mother and my family for several years. She has multiple health issues, including diabetes and advanced macular degeneration, and I credit the excellent nursing and care staff for her continued physical and emotional well-being. The facility is attractive (recently remodeled) and clean, with good food and on-going activities and events for the residents. I appreciate the thoughtful communication from the management, especially the daily emails summarizing my mother’s participation in activities - complete with photos!

However, what really makes this place a blessing is the staff. Because it is smaller than some of the huge, sprawling facilities in the area, the staff and residents know each other well. I am frequently impressed with the patience, kindness and caring demonstrated by the nurses, aides and administrative staff. I feel like my mom has a second family at the Avenues and I am grateful for the peace of mind this gives me in providing the best care I can...

Love the staff but dining experience is the worst I've ever had. The food is terrible & getting worse every day. We pay good money to live here but are fed food I wouldn't feed to my animals. Everything is very greasy the vegetables are cook ed d until they fall apart. Fed same things over & over. You say anything & they say you have alternates. Sandwiches. A perso can't live on sandwiches. Cook so much fish that everyone has taken to eating the sandwiches. Not a heart healthy diet & 80% of us have some sort of heart problem. i lived here from February till mid May. it was a bad experience due to how bad the management was: in that time my billing invoices were wrong and had to be corrected, every month. i did not receive the services i was paying for ie showers. this was because the services manager , when problems were brought to her attention, corrective actions werent made . they 8 cases of virsus before I left.
