Mr. Habanero — Restaurant in Dallas

So we decided to check out this newly opened restaurant where the old Golden Corral used to be located. Upon enering facility, we were greeted by friendly hostesses and met our party at our designated table. We were acknowledged promptly by our server who took our drink order. There were bowls of chips and warm salsa. The restaurant was completely made over, which offered a cavernous dining room, and a huge bar as wel, with large screen TVs throughout the space. The chairs were pretty to look at, but uncomfortable to sit in. There was a live DJ playing loud thumping club music, which made it hard to have a conversation without having to yell. The food we ordered was brought out promptly, and it was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the Camarines Al Mojo de Ajo, and the shrimp were not the jumbo ones I was expecting for a $20.00 dish, and my partner's Chili Relleno had what it seemed like store bought grilled chicken cubes instead of authentic Mexican seasoned shredded chicken. Finally Got to have dinner at Mr,Habanero. The place is Fantastic, when you arrive at thier front door you are greeted by a person opening the door welcoming you, another person takes you to your table and within a minute your Waiter brings chips and hot salsa to your table and asks what drinks you will have followed by what appetizers you will have. We ordered a tea and a drink and no appetizer. We ordered a chilies relleno, and chicken enchiladas. They served us within 10 min. the plates were hot, and the food was hot as well. The Chili rellenos were perfectly cooked the rice was well cooked as well as the black beans. The chicken enchiladas were perfectly cooked as well as the rice and black beans. The plates are big and the food served was so delicious and they serve plenty of food. We highty recommend this place it is better than El phenix. and the seating is very nice, with a lot of space and the decor is very nice and clean. and the people are very nice as well. We came here on Valentine's Day for an early dinner! Our server, Eneida, was wonderful! Great service! We ordered the table side flaming queso w chorizo for an app - which was delicious! Margaritas were yummy and strong! I had the chicken fajitas which came w a very generous serving of chicken and my hubby had the enchiladas verde which he loved! . The tortillas are handmade and you can tell as they taste very fresh!! One of my fav items on the table was their salsa! It's very good!! I could almost make a meal out of the chips and salsa! The restaurant is very large- plenty of room! The atmosphere is clean, pretty and everything looks new and up to date! The bar looks so fun- we said next time we are gonna sit in the bar!
