952 p.m. and the doors are locked when their posted hours online are till 10:00 p.m.. 14 minute drive here and 14 minutes back home, that means I wasted a little over 30 minutes of my life to come up here and buy one item which they have on the shelf here, a flea trap. and now I'm leaving without the one item. I really don't like patronizing businesses that don't honor their hours and frankly if I was running a business and I had to leave the doors open for another few minutes to make one more sale I would be extremely happy for that. it was my business it wouldn't really matter ,but at least in my case tonight , I would have been in and out in the time it took me to write this review as I know what I needed and I know where it was and it's just one item and I'm by myself.
I would have been back out in the driver seat of my car by 9:58. like I said I really don't think it matters that much but just FYI in case anybody's wondering if I was planning to salter in there at 9:52 and spend 20 minutes. Frankly it's just not very cool. kind of makes me sad to be honest not for myself wasting 30 minutes just for the world we live in where everybody's so uptight to get out of their situation where everybody's stressed out, counting the minutes.
BTW Two more customers have walked up in the time that I've written this review ,which took less than 3 minutes so they've lost at least three sales here. I'm tempted to say that I understand the clerks wanting to get home, and I would fully support any business that would close it 5:00 p.m. or 6:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. or whatever they feel like. I frankly think that would be better for the world and for society. I would like it better myself the way it was during COVID times actually, businesses closing at 6:00 -everybody getting to spend more time at home and in their neighborhoods. But when these businesses make a point of keeping late hours and they advertise these hours, then there's absolutely no excuse for not honoring them. When I was a teenager working service retail you can believe me that I wanted out of there 8 minutes early so badly it hurt. But of course I was a silly 15-year-old, and as an adult I of course came to realize that if you're going to be there at 9:52 why not be there at 10:06 if you need be and just make the whole situation a lot more pleasant by chilling out. Nobody in their right mind would try to argue that you're any better off with another 14 minutes to yourself especially if you're an hourly employee. Once again I was a typical 15-year-old in the '80s and so needless to say I was not in my right mind... not blaming the clerks I'm not blaming anyone specific I'm just ranting about the state of society I suppose. If I had to guess , the problem is likely that people are not paid a respectable and respectful wage so that the corporations can scrape up an extra helping of the wealth generated here for their ownerership. If any of you clerks, young or old, are reading this then take my word and make yourself a happier person and do your best to finish out your shifts honorably- making your business look exceptional, and giving your customers a situation that unfortunately would be a lone standout in today's world. I would do this whether or not they're paying you respectfully, because firstly it's the fastest way to get out of there. You will thank yourself for that attitude. Believe me it's how you get places in the world, and even if it wasn't, it's how you sleep soundly. Doors tend to open for people like that. People notice, door's open,...

Placed an order for kitchen island, kitchen surround and bar countertops made from Silestone Quartz on 7/21/18. We received an estimated install date of 8/20/18 from the time we paid. The sub-contractors (Stone Systems) that Home Depot hires this out to came out to measure 3 days after we placed the initial order. We had decided to add all of our 4 bathrooms to the order, and took over a week trying to find someone at the store who could place the order. Once we finally got the order added, the sub-contractors came out again and measured those. We had told them we were on a tight timeline to move in, they ensured us we wouldnât have any issues and be on-time.
The original installation date ended up being scheduled the day before our move-in on 8/30/18, but the sub-contractors said we wouldnât have any issues. The day of installation, they installers arrive and told us that one of the pieces was broke, so they had to re-cut that one, but would still be done the same day. They continued installing, starting with the bathrooms, and 3 out of 4 bathrooms ended up being cut incorrectly because of bad measurements and poor communication on their part. They began working on the kitchen and discovered the sink was off-center about 1.5 inches, and the overhang off the front of the cabinets was not measure correctly so some parts would have only had about a Âź inch overhang. They had their supervisor come out, and confirmed that two new pieces for the kitchen would need cut. They finished installing the island and bar, which turned out ok.
Because of the holiday weekend, Stone Systems said the new corrected pieces couldnât be cut and installed until 9/6/18.
We informed Home Depot immediately on 8/30/18, both in person and over the phone. We were told by Adam Sweeney that he would take care of everything and make this a high priority. He said the District Services Manager, Marcus Royal, would be contacting us. We never received a call from anyone after 8/30/18! We have attempted to talk to the store manager, but the employees are very vague and will not tell us when heâs working.
The installers arrived on 9/6/18 and completed the installation, but scratched the brand new cabinets in a few places and almost broke a new pendant light over the island. After talking to Home Depot today, they said any sort of credit/reimbursement for the issues caused would have to be authorized by Stone Systems. Home Depot is not taking ANY ownership of the service they sold to us. They really havenât apologized even! This whole ordeal has cost us more than it should with inspection cancellations, eating every meal out, hotels, etc.
I would NOT recommend ordering countertops or any service for that matter, from Home Depot if they take no ownership and pride of the service they are...
Read moreI haven't been to Home Depot in years. I usually go to a locally owned True Value, and the difference was astounding... and not in a good way. There is a good variety in this store, obviously, but the customer service was a problem.
When it was time for me to ring up, I discovered there weren't any cashiers, just self check out. I had about 300 pounds of landscaping material with no barcodes... I didn't know how to ring that up. Landscaping seems like the last place you would want to put a self-checkout machine. People are hauling heavy things around without bar codes, and there's a huge variety in materials (like how many types of planters do you have?)
The young woman who was assigned to keep an eye on the self check out was staring at her phone, which was on speaker, and she just motioned for me to check myself out. She didn't look up.
When I said I needed help, she put her phone down, walked over, and pulled up a screen with landscaping materials and told me to find what I ordered. Then she was ready to walk off again. Except... the stuff I ordered was not on the screen, so I said I didn't see the material I had purchased.
At this point, she cursed audibly. She kept saying things under her breath like "stay strong."
Maybe she'd had a bad day or maybe working retail isn't a good fit. But I definitely wasn't unfriendly or demanding or rude. I had a smile on my face when I said I needed help and was apologetic when I couldn't find the materials on the computer screen and repeated that I needed help.
The next person who came over also couldn't not figure out how to ring me up and made up a value to charge me for the items, which wasn't cool, because I had a cart full of this stuff. I don't want to be overcharged. Meanwhile, the cursing young woman was already sitting back with her phone, which was back to blasting whatever she was watching on speaker.
I don't take an issue with people not knowing how to ring something up... or it taking awhile... but being ignored in favor of whatever video the person was watching on their phone, listening to F-bombs, and the made up pricing was too much.
In the future, this store is strictly going to be order online / pick up at the curb. I know there are helpful people at Home Depot, and I think the garden center needs some re-working so there is a cashier station where you can queue up and be rung up by a person who knows the system well, instead of having one person try to solve problem after problem with self checkout machines.
Also I generally don't agree with "no phone" policies but seriously, if you can't keep it in your pocket and you feel the need to watch things on speaker when people are trying to check out, the store might need one of...
