I recently had a surgery (c-section, spinal) at Medical City Plano and my anesthesiologist did an exceptional job. During surgery, I started to feel faint. I have I have Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome, and Ehlers Danlos syndrome, And thought I might feel faint at some point during surgery. They were prepared and stopped surgery briefly to help me recover. Amber, my anesthesiologist was exceptional, held my hand and made sure my husband was also holding my hand (He had briefly let go because he got distracted by the baby, but she gently took his hand again and put my hand in his.) Amber made sure that I was safe protected and well cared for both physically and emotionally. She explained what I would feel with a spinal, that I would feel pressure, but not pain and she explained that they had been doing things I would have felt sharply without the spinal. It was a strange feeling, numb, super tingly and just odd, and without explanation it would have been a lot scarier, and a lot harder to understand, but she made sure I knew what was happening and why, which helped so much. At one point, my husband and I were just laughing and talking normally during the surgery like nothing was happening. So cool and honestly good memories. OR staff and my doctor were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was recently admitted into the hospital and had to have a test done that required me to undergo anesthesia. I was kind of skeptical about the procedure and it was a phlebotomist that talked me out of my fears and convinced me to go on and have the procedure done. After being taken down for the procedure, each and every person that had a hand in me going under anesthesia were kind, reassuring and professional. Jamie Khanh was my Anesthesiologist. He showed his face in the ER before my admittance, he showed his face before the procedure and he showed his face after all was done and went well. To each and every person in this department, I am grateful and to the staff in the emergency room, the 5th floor staff that cared for me and all others from EVS to the cafeteria, I am grateful! I donāt know whatās being said in the monthly or quarterly meetings but I encourage Texas Health to continue teaching great customer service. Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom my husband who had brain mass craniotomy. Absolute state-of-the-art from initial surgeon interview, pre-op, surgery, post-op, ICU. By the way, he did not wear socks for the interview; but that did not matter. I will take his confidence, personal interest, and skills, any day. I asked Dr. Kerr to walk me through the pocedure from two days before the surgery until two weeks after. For the parts that I was awake for before and after the surgery, every detail on his agenda happened almost to the minute. I'm pretty sure he and Dr. Mickey had done this a few times abfore. Both he and Dr. Mickey are top of the pyramid in my opinion. Dr. Kerr even took precious time after I got home to call and followup with a couple of questions I had. I just remember laying on the operating table and then waking up with minimal pain. Pain management and result were better than I ever imagined. And the confort-confidence factor in the BSW team that took care of me was off the scale. Seemed like 30 or 40 people dealt with me during my stay and they all demonstrated absolute professionalism and care for me. Great place to go with serious...
