My dad has lived at The Reserve at North Dallas since July 2023. I would never recommend “The Reserve” to anybody I liked. The positives are that he likes his apartment and really enjoys the entertainment. Certain staff members show up every day, not only mentally and physically, but with their tender hearts as well. The food has decreased in quality since he moved in and is barely edible sometimes. I call the Exceutive Director, Rick Molenhouse, “The Great Oz”, because I tried seven times to introduce our family to him and was told he was in a meeting every single time. Finally I left my phone number and requested a call to set up a meeting and the receptionist told me to email him. You’d think he would want to meet new residents and their families, right? I discovered they had NO EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION IN THEIR SYSTEM FOR THREE MONTHS. If there had been an emergency they couldn’t inform anyone in our family. After sitting down with Rick to discuss our concerns, he made a personal promise to have the requested maintenance items completed the following week. That was exactly one month ago and outstanding items remain. The Maintenance Director is wonderful and I do not fault him for lack their lack of communication. Many times we have made a request upwards of four times. My dad is paying $4,700 a month for - lousy food, an unavailable and unprofessional Executive Director, and rude front desk personnel that apparently write in invisible ink. Other than that, it’s great. On the flip side, Mary is an angel. She truly loves the residents from the bottom of her heart. Michael is awesome too. My father has fulfilled his portion of the contract by paying rent on-time and abiding by community rules. Unfortunately, The Reserve has not held up their end of...
Read moreThe Reserve at North Dallas has surpassed my expectations in so many ways. My family came to visit our dad/grandpa, wanting to ensure he was in a good environment and part of a close knit community. It can be challenging to live far away from a loved one without knowing what type of environment they are living in, relying on the phone for communication.
This community is "over the top" when it comes to a staff who are genuinely interested in pleasing their residents. Both Michael and Wyetta, who were working at the front desk during our visit, were warm, friendly and helpful, patiently answering all my many questions about what they offer to their residents. When I approached Ryan, the associate director of dining services, to inquire about dining in with the family, he readily reserved the private dining room for us. Our dad/grandpa was so happy to have dinner with us all together with him. It was like eating out in a fine dining restaurant reserved especially for us. We were given menus and delicious food and the the table was set beautifully. It truly gave me the feel like our dad/grandpa is part of an expensive country club. Our server, Ever, waited on us as if we were of dignatory status. He was so attentive to all of our many requests, refilling our coffee, promptly clearing used plates and making helpful suggestions. The apartments are beautiful, gardens well kept and inviting, lounges warm and inviting, activities abounding everywhere; however for me, the most important thing was that our dad/grandpa was treated royally and this is what I observed. I am able to return home and talk on the phone to him, knowing that even though I cannot be close by geographically, he is in a great environment that will contribute to his...
Read moreI moved my mother to Reserve in hope for a positive experience. I couldn't have been more disgusted and disappointed with my choice. The medical staff.(In particular Margarette,)My mother has edema in her legs, I was told by the head of nursing (Margarette) they would order lasix, and it would be available the next day. When I arrived and saw my mother's legs, they were purple.I called paramedics, who stated she needed to get to the hospital immediately. Upon arriving at the hospital, I was told by the doctor if she wasn't taken to the hospital she wouldn't have made it through the night. I find this to be beyond neglect and unprofessionalism on the behalf of the head of medical (Margrette.) Complete laziness and lack of care. If you are thinking about putting your family in the Reserve, think again. Very displeased it's more about the money then quality care. If you were looking for nice apartments this is a great place if you're looking for quality care.Keep looking. Silla is also a disappointment. She never returns phone calls and has every excuse in the world for not doing so. Before moving in, she called Me and my family's phone every day this is a complete disgrace to the elderly Do yourself a favor and do not move in to this deceiving place.... Keep Looking !!!!!! Much better quality care is available in the...
