Sekaido — Local services in Daly City

They always have 20% off even though they've priced things over $10 if not more depending on the item!!!

The items aren't even difficult to find online so they are not worth it. When they first opened, their prices were about retail price so they were good to buy from but then something changed where they decided to increase costs. They've expanded locations and I'm only guessing that they are trying rip off customers in order to make their money back that they spent on their expansion. I'm sorry for all those people that got ripped off due to being a noob.

An example is that they had a pop up parade figure for about $60-$70 when they retail about $38.99 online from GSC US store.

Another example is they had banpresto figures that retail about $26.99 and they're charging about $34.99 or so. This means they are doing the tactical strategy of charging like 30+% and still coming on top with "20% off".

I recommend you go elsewhere for your figure needs.

Feedback for the store: It is great to have a local anime store to go and support but being ripped off or lied to by percentage off is awful treatment. I hope you realize the stores will close sooner than later with those type of prices. You should consider trying to be a wholesale partner with one of the companies or finding better suppliers to lower costs for everyone. If not, then I guess the store is a great free and public...

Sold me a broken figure for $40, and when I requested for a refund or at least store credit. First they agreed, but after stalling and making me wait there for an hour, they refused.

I am a long time collector. This place has many figures that are NOT climate controlled. That being said, all those plastics WILL melt inside the box. This is some basic knowledge of owning a figure store.

So when you buy here, be sure that they will be extremely difficult when it comes to refund. Sekaido is garbage so are the owner and the staff here.

The owner seemed nice and personable.

The issue I had was that I spent 15 minutes in the store and I checked for price tags on at least a dozen different items and didn’t find one on a single item. Then, I thought I found a product that was listed for a certain price, and when I was rung up to purchase the item, it came out to an additional 20-25% than what I was expected. I left without buying, but it left a bad taste in my mouth.
