I would like to start off with Nancy the out reach director was very nice and I get she was doing her job to get patient in the door. After all this her job. This LTach hospital was a not what was explained to us and was by far nothing we expected. The room was filthy upon arrival. Two days later I asked for a mop and broom and I left all the linens and trash outside the door that had not been taken out for days and it sat out In the hall for a good portion of the day untouched. The bedside tray had stuff inside it from, I am guessing previous patient. The housekeeper started to attack me when I asked for his room to be cleaned. I basically was the housekeeper and nurse for my father for the short time I was there visiting from out of state. We were told there would be 3 therapy sessions a week and well that did not happen or what they consider therapy was one of each a week. PT/OT/Speech. We are here for recovery and therapy. I am not very confident most of them were therapist anyways. My fathers call light would ring for long periods of time. Most of the staff was agency and not actual employed staff. Most caregivers and a few nurses were great with my father. If my father had an agency nurse you could tell the other would refuse to help her/him cause he/she wasn’t one of their own. They would transfer him into a chair by sliding him with a sheet and drag him across from the bed to the chair. (We are still dealing with his bottom being so sore 3 weeks later). The case management was not on top of their game I had to continually call and be a thorn in their side to get things moving for my father to go to rehab in which I called around to find placement for my father. Even the rehab place had trouble getting ahold of them to get them to fax a packet for them to review. Floor staff was ok and sometimes great but the communication from management was poor. My mother even finally had to ask for the administrator or CEO. Who then came in to talk to her(mom) and she mentioned the therapy. All that was done was please sign this sheet to prove I addressed your complaint. No one was ever on the same page. Once case manager came to room to have a conference and I specifically asked about rehab she then became very defensive and was repeating “we are not a rehab”, well that’s what we were told and she then replied well we’re not and I don’t know who told you that. I have been in health care for 17 years and this was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered. I don’t normally write reviews, however I feel like this place needs a lot of work. I would recommend a tour before placing a family...

Kay, Tomie,Paula,Carla,JJ, CJ, Crystal,Denise,Missy, Mitzi, these are the most precious, loving, caring, Charge Nurses and RN’s I’ve ever had in my life!! They are excellent in their jobs and they treat their patients with respect and love. My PT’s and my OT’s I can honestly say I don’t remember their names because I called them honey, sweetie, or baby. None the less I love them all, they have went a above and beyond their call of duty, they have put me on bedpans if I needed it to fixing my bed linens if they needed straightening. They have given me strength, courage, and the will power to push myself but not to far. They are an awesome group of ladies that are very intelligent and they works so well together and they love their jobs because it shows they all have a passion to help others. Thank you to all my Doctors and the Nurse Practitioners for taking such good care of me and making sure I had everything I needed when I needed it. This hospital is more than a hospital you all have something special your a team and it shows everyday and every shift. Laying in this bed I watch and listen it doesn’t matter what needs to be done you all work together to get it done. Weather it be bringing a meal tray to a patient or picking a meal tray up from a patient you all work together to get it done.    Read moreI have debated on whether or not to post this review, but I feel it is necessary so that families are not mislead like I was about the care their loved ones will receive at this “rehab” facility. My mother was recently a patient at Select. She was profoundly weak from being in a medical coma for 12 days and ventilator dependent. The goal was to get her off the ventilator and physically stronger. That could never happen at this facility because they are grossly understaffed. The staff will tell you this multiple times a day and it is apparent in the care they give. Your family member will not get turned, their call bell will go unanswered and they will be forced to be incontinent because no one responds to their calls. Staff will not introduce themselves and are very disgruntled, they are unable to answer any questions that you will have regarding medications, heart rhythm, and goals of care. They will act annoyed if you ask questions and for the most part ignore that you are in the room. We made multiple complaints, and administration will respond with a typed apology, but that is just a formality. The actual care never changes. It was a complete state of stress for my family until the day we transferred. My mother had constant anxiety related to her care and lack thereof. The unfortunate part is that there are limited facilities in Lexington that will accept ventilator dependent patients so it is inevitable you will be forced to come here. My only advice is that you attempt to stay with your loved one as much as possible and document issues on paper and with photos. I will add that the Respiratory Therapist are very hard working but in my opinion also understaffed and physical therapy are very pleasant and professional. I began to just believe this is how all long term acute care facilities will be but since this post we have been transferred to Rockcastle Respiratory Center and she is receiving amazing care and her anxiety has significantly diminished. She is now weaning slowly from the ventilator, and her environment is so positive and...
