Connecticut Welcome Center — Local services in Darien

This turned out to be a perfect place to pause while heading north on I-95. With the GPS warning of traffic ahead, it made sense to pull off, stretch my legs, use the restroom, and grab a quick nap—especially since I’m driving an RV with a bed in the back, which makes rest stops a lot more comfortable.

The building houses Panera, McDonald’s (with a drive-through), Dunkin, Sbarro, and a convenience store—plenty of options if you’re craving something salty, sweet, or caffeinated. There’s also a Mobil station, and fuel prices were comparable to what we’d seen elsewhere along the route.

There’s a time limit for parking here, but we didn’t come close to exceeding it. After a short rest, the traffic had cleared and we were back on the road...

Just stopped at 95 north Darien area welcome center with RV towing (total 60'). This got 2 stars only because it's actually now open. The limited spaces for tractor trailers are either too short or are awkward to back up into. Professionals are able to park but it takes longer and blocks the other trucks while they maneuver. These rest areas were just redone. It really shows how much CT is opposed to truckers by showing them how unwelcome they are.

Very clean road stop with a great variety of food. The tables to eat at were clean and there were more than enough spaces. The lines, if there were any, moved quickly. Food prices are about average for a rest stop. There are some tourist information pamphlets for people looking for things to do. There was no line for the bathroom, which was...
