(tl;dr) Ask for Maureen W, she's awesome :)
I have always had a lovely experience at each Quest I have been to, but I'm annoyed I have never visited their Darien location. Truly a 10/10. This location was very clean, had minimal employees, and minimal foot traffic. They leave the front door open when it's nice out so the waiting room doesn't get stuffy, but of course you also have the option to wait in your car, conveniently parked 15 feet away from the front door. It is the only Quest location I have ever experienced a timely appointment at - most other locations I experience at least a 20 minute wait, despite showing up 5 minutes early.
Maureen W was absolutely lovely - a fantastic nurse and personable, too! I have pretty tough veins, they roll and are difficult to see/find to begin with. Maureen W was the first nurse who not only got my vein on the first try, but was actually able to position the needle to follow my vein up - I have never seen my blood flow so quickly! Seriously, the most efficient poke I have ever experienced. I ALWAYS develop wild bruises after bloodwork, but I am happy to report that I have absolutely no bruise 10 hours after my appointment. Chatting with Maureen during the appointment was really great. I've had limited contact with the outside world since the pandemic began, and now that I'm fully immunized, I am glad my first real conversation I had with a stranger was with Maureen. She empathized with my small talk and left me feeling excited/hopeful for the future. People like Maureen give me renewed faith...
Read moreQuest does not appear to respect clients’ time. If an appointment is scheduled for a specific time, it should be honored. Just as clients are expected to arrive on time, technicians must also uphold their responsibility to respect scheduled appointments.
If Quest prefers to operate within appointment ranges, this should be clearly implemented as an option within the client portal, allowing clients to select a preferred time window and plan accordingly. This would alleviate the pressure to uphold scheduled appointments that the technicians are not able to meet.
When contacting customer service about scheduling concerns, clients should not be met with unprofessionalism or hostility. Affordable lab testing should not equate to diminished service quality or poor client treatment.
At your Darien, CT location, Maureen directed an unwarranted and unprofessional attitude toward me while I attempted to politely address a scheduling concern after being placed on hold by your customer service representative.
Unbeknownst to me, I was transferred via phone to the physical location (Darien, CT) when Maureen answered the call. I explained how we were connected and instead of hearing my concern, she began yelling through the phone while I was in the waiting area.
No customer should have to endure disrespect when a scheduling concern is politely raised. Professionals in the medical field should demonstrate courtesy, self-control, and respect at all times. It’s concerning that her first instinct was anger opposed...
Read moreMaureen is wonderful, I have a huge fear of needles and was already crying and hyperventilating, she talked to me to calm me down and found my vein in one try and barely any pain at all, she is very very good. And I have notoriously hard veins to find.
There’s another young girl who works there on the other hand, looks to be in her 20s, that was extremely rude, impatient, and looked pissed off to even be working there, when I told her I was nervous she looked me dead in the eyes with the most annoyed look like I’m wasting her time, I’m glad I advocated for myself and asked for someone else to do the blood draw, and that’s how I ended up with Maureen.
If you ask for Maureen you’re in good hands, the other girl- not so sure.
Was easy to check in at the kiosk, and was even taken early before...
