Theater: The theater is gorgeous, brand new, bright and artistic and clean. Beautiful! Sound from the concert is great but a bit too loud that we couldn't understand the bands. The volume could be turned down a notch or two and it would still be awesome.
Temperatures were a bit too warm and the place was not even filled. The theater could save on their utility bill by turning down the heat a few degrees. We will all still drink.
Seats are uncomfortable, tight and small and narrow. And not many handrails to go up and down. Had to stand alot.. guess it was good then there is general admission standing area for sure.
The seats rows are not numbered correctly or not easy to find your seats that you pay for online. Staff did not seem to know either.
Purchasing tickets: For my first time to buy for this venue is strictly thru an online app. only as expected.
We Had a choice to buy printed tickets at $6 each more to pick up 2 hours before the concert but we did not pay for printed tickets decided to use the phone app....Was not thrilled when we arrived to the venue and I had paid $10 each extra for each seat to arrive and be told the whole concert was open to general admission. Misleading.
Libations: There was only one small bar to purchase a limited selection of drinks that were all warm, not cold drinks. the entire concert, and $8 a tall boy.
Staff: The theater staff were all very nice and professional.
Parking: It's downtown Davenport...that's all I have to say. Take extra time to find parking or a parking garage to pay for parking.
Concert Performance: Advertised that the doors opened at 6pm, concert (the opening bad) starts at 7pm. However, there was an opening bad for the opening band which lead to the band we came to see Not play until 9:40pm. Was not thrilled to be there that long waiting for the main band. Would have wanted to know TWO opening bands before...as we would not have been there that early...we almost walked out.
I'm sure they have some adjustments to make as this may be one of the first concerts since they have had since they opened the theater.
We will return and try this venue again one more time as we have some of these things noted and see...
Read moreLast night at the Sierra Ferrell concert, your venue failed on every level to protect its guests. A visibly intoxicated man was allowed to stand near the stage screaming hate speech. He called people “liberal idiots,” said “liberals deserve to be punished,” and claimed that whatever bad happens to us, we deserve it. He also shouted about how Trump was some kind of god.
How he thought he knew anyone’s political beliefs, I have no idea. No one in the crowd was discussing politics before he entered that space. His outburst was completely unprovoked, aggressive, and deeply inappropriate.
Multiple guests, including myself, reported him to security. He should have been removed immediately. Instead, even after being spoken to, he was allowed to remain and was later let back in after being escorted out. That decision put people at risk. This same man later shoved my younger sister, and I had to physically put myself between them to protect her. He also threw his drink. I don’t know if it was intentional, but he knew I had reported him to security, and it felt deliberate.
As a woman, I felt completely unsafe. This man was volatile, physically aggressive, and loudly spouting hateful rhetoric. He was allowed to create a threatening, unsafe environment while your staff stood by and did nothing. What was supposed to be a night of music and community turned into something deeply disturbing.
Capitol Theatre became a place where someone could openly harass and intimidate others without consequence. That is absolutely unacceptable.
You owe everyone who attended an explanation. But more than that, you owe us action. What specific steps are you taking to ensure this never...

This was my first experience at this venue and I was not disappointed. The line moved quickly getting people inside shortly after doors opened.
They are kind and helpful to those of us with disabilities rewiring ADA options. We choose to sit in the back at this venue had sloped seating. We were able to have a great view of the entire show and sit comfortably.
The event we went to was Social Distortion with opening act Plague Vendor. Both bands put on a great show. I have seen Social D venue, but this setlist was way different than the lady time, which was cool.
The lines moved quick to get beverages and snacks. The only reason I didn't give this venue 5 stars was because the only food they had was small bags of chips. Their website indicated a much bigger venue with dinner-like options. We purposely didn't eat beforehand thinking we'd be getting food at the show. By far the only downside.
The staff let's people go iut front to smoke and come back in without having to buy another ticket, provided you had your hand stamped.
The hallways weren't super wide, so leaving was a little busy, but not the artist I've experienced.
Bathrooms were available nearby the exits of the concert hall.
A great mid-sized venue to see someone without being so far away. Though, I think next time I will go with balcony seats. Seems like the view would be great.
Thanks to the staff and everyone for being so nice. Definitely...
