A totally awesome FREE place to get great views of the Mighty Mississippi River, The Centennial and Government bridges, Nearby parks and any flooding that the Mighty Mississip might be dealing out at any given time. :- ) Enclosed and heated, open early morning and past sundown for great opportunities for photographers. Elevators and stairs give easy access. Plenty of free parking within a half block area. The River was flooding when I was there, which can be seen in my photos. If you've only got a short amount of time, this is a good place to go, parking was nearby and easy, I took the stairs up for the exercise. Read moreWent on Valentine's Day and it was incredibly relaxing. The building maintained a perfect and powerful A/C unit that gives out the appropriate amount of heat or air depending on the weather outside, so it's basically always super comfortable. And its extremely clean!
The views are amazing and its probably really romantic and fun during the nighttime! Its sadly not a very long platform. So, don't expect to be up there for anything more than maybe 25 minutes. But otherwise it's a great stop if you want somewhere private with a great view. Free...
Read moreWe drove over an hour out of the way to come see this. It looked so cool from pictures. When we got there and walked through all the homeless people to get to the door, there was a hand written sign saying closed, AC broken. There was plywood over some broken windows and rust on much of the supports. It's a shame, looks like it's on the verge of being abandoned.
