I hate to go negative on “local” because I believe in local. Local Local Local – YES!!! But his insanity called the Adler Theater has to stop.

What brings people to fill this 2,000 seat auditorium? Talent of course. But are the people repeat visitors? It CAN’T BE! Why would people put themselves through the pain, agony, and emotional distress caused by a horrible sound system and microscopic seats?

In 2006 I first visited the Adler with some good friends who had helped me out of a bad personal situation. In appreciation I spent a ton of money on 10th row seats for a comedy event. You couldn’t hear the comedians! From less than 30 ft away we saw lips move and couldn’t hear a thing. My group, along with 20-30 other people, stood at the rear of the theater to hear the show. Later that night, in my new home, I emotionally broke down over my failure to repay my friends.

In the 13 years since I attended two shows both times sitting in the upper balcony. The comedians were world class and the laughter overcame the horrible leg cramps created by the playschool-sized seats.

The last straw was earlier this year. Over a period of many months my wife secretly saved hundreds of dollars and purchased tickets to a blues guitar player I discovered on YouTube: Joe Bonamassa. You see she has health issues and knew when I listened to his music it took me away from the trials and tribulations of this world, if only for a moment. To date, attending the at the Adler Theater show is an emotional low point in my life.

Our tickets were extremely expensive and located at the rear of the theater somewhere near row Z of section C. I cannot understate the size of the seat. I could not put my legs together because of the proximity of the chair back in front of me. Once Joe came out to play all we heard was noise. Just noise. As the show progressed my legs started to hurt but I could start to hear the music so it was ok. Then you couldn’t hear the background singers. Then all you heard was noise. He spoke to the audience, we heard that. Then the music started, just more noise. 45 minutes into the show my legs hurt so bad I was crying. That’s when we had to leave.

I cried all the way home. It was the emotional equivalent of being told your going to Disneyland and then the taxi drops you off in Sheboygan on a snowy day.

This insanity called the Adler Theater HAS...

I booked Ajv photography back in May of 2022 paid in full. See I was very excited to have our special moment captured and I’m not one to bash others for circumstances that are beyond our control. Our wedding was September 30 of this year and in mid July we get a phone call that he was cancelling due to a trip he won to Mexico my feelings were hurt but in mind I understand that’s an opportunity of a lifetime. What I don’t care for is that he just offered a refund he never gave us an opportunity to point our wedding day in the right direction giving us an alternative associate to call or trying to remedy the situation. It was impossible to find someone short notice. Let that go and we just accepted the fact that we would have to go without videography. All to find that the night before our wedding he was still here in the us filming a fight he felt took priority over our own special day. It’s insulting that you hire people to count on and they just toss you aside like this. Welcome him...

Absolutely incredible experience! I attended Video Games in Concert last night at the Adler Theatre, performed by the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra, and it completely blew me away. The orchestra, led by conductor Hisham Bravo Groover, along with the St. Ambrose Singers directed by Nathan Windt, delivered an unforgettable performance.

The music from iconic games like The Last of Us, Skyrim, Kingdom Hearts, Halo, Mass Effect, God of War, Tomb Raider, League of Legends, and so many more was brought to life with powerful emotion and stunning precision. The synchronized video projections added an immersive visual element that made the entire concert feel cinematic and epic.

Whether you’re a lifelong gamer or just a fan of beautiful music, this show was a must-see. The QCSO outdid themselves—an amazing tribute to the artistry of video game soundtracks. I would 100%...

My boss gave me tickets to see mj live, for my husband and I to enjoy the next night. I had lost one of the tickets the night of and I explained this to the box office lady 5 min before the show is supposed to start. She and another lady talked for a second then the lady I was talking to took my one ticket and gave me 2 others ND ripped up the one and said she moved us up. I was so grateful. It had already been a challenging night and I was ready to cry and this woman made it all better. Thank you kind women I truly appreciated the kindness.
