Opening night for the season. You can't beat the views, and the bartender, Lyric, is friendly and helpful. There are gas fires outside and an indoor seating area if the weather isn't cooperative.

Edit 4/24/2022: Dropped from four starts to three. Stopped by again on 4/23. It was considerably busier, since it was a gorgeous Saturday evening. Unfortunately, the staff couldn't seem to keep up with the demand. The staff are friendly, and I'm sure they mean well, but they lack coordination and an overall plan to address customer needs. There are signs advising customers to come to the bar to order, but staff would occasionally be seen taking orders and delivering drinks on the floor. Customers who did head to the bar to order found chaos. It is unclear where to approach the bar--At one end or the other? In the middle? Wedged between patrons seated at the bar?--and the order in which staff approached these brave souls remains a mystery. When one was able to put in an order, the order fulfillment was slower than even a busy Saturday night could justify. For locals and travelers alike, this bar offers a fantastic way to cap off a long day! Perched atop The Current Hotel, Up Skybar provides a wonderful view of the Mississippi River. While it can be a bit blustery on windy days, sunny days offer the perfect opportunity to soak up the sun and enjoy the ambiance, complete with fire pits and comfortable couches as the sun sets.

The service was truly outstanding. The staff are not only down-to-earth but also have a great sense of humor, making you feel right at home as you order. This bar welcomes both locals and hotel guests, and I highly recommend it as a regular spot if you're local.

The bartenders are both knowledgeable and friendly. When I visited, I was offered a choice between something from the menu and a custom creation. Opting for the latter, the bartender whipped up a drink called the "Mississippi Blues," which was exactly what I needed after a long day of travel. I followed that with the Ahi tacos, which were equally impressive—a perfect blend of tangy and sweet flavors.

Great view but expect little else. Placed on a waiting list for 20 minutes only to arrive at a sparsely occupied rooftop. The venue holds 300 but maybe 75 guests were there and plenty of staff. The service was the worst we've encountered anywhere in the area. Sat outside and waited 10 minutes for a server. The server arrives, promises a menu but never returns. 15 minutes later we catch him taking photos of local fireworks and texting his buddies. A second server arrives, no menu and we finally get drinks 30 minutes into our visit. Do yourself a favor and order at the bar! The evening ends with our second server losing our credit card. We leave the hotel only to find a hotel staffer vacuuming the lobby with pants dropped halfway to expose his underwear. Wow, I couldn't make this stuff up if I tried!
