LAZY / DAMAGING gel removal Clearly the nail tech never learned how to properly remove gel manicures. She barely scraped the gel a few times before putting on the acetone. Then roughly scraped the barely soaked off gel using the tool angled towards the nail bed. Scraped over my cuticles numerous times, which was painful. Then she filed off the rest of the gel that was stuck on there, which took a long time and made my nails so brittle and thin.

If she'd properly buffed off as much gel as possible (GENTLY) before the acetone they would have soaked off almost completely, then only requiring gentle scraping, parallel to the nail bed.

I changed my mind about even getting a color. I didn't want to be there anymore. Uneven shaping.

Literally another girl was asking for a different nail tech while i was there and they ignored her.

I have used Y2K nails for many years and absolutely adore the service that I get normally. Today was an unfortunate first disappointment-but it was a big disappointment. My daughter, granddaughter and I had appointments for mani/pedis. I ended up not getting my manicure because they chose to work on a customer who came in after us before finishing mine. I waited for at least half an hour between my pedicure and manicure. My daughter and granddaughter were already finished so I passed on the manicure. Like I said this was the first time that I have been disappointed so I am hoping it was just a fluke. Next time I will be sure to tell them that we all want to finish at the same time. Saying Heidi and her team are amazing would be an understatement. I've never been rushed here, prices so fair, never left unhappy with my results. Pedicure lasted a whole hour and that was just new basic pedicure, which included a hot stone massage by the way. My cuticles and dead skin are history, no pain, no blood no foil. And my nails look phenomenal. Heidi's fills last me a month each time and I just can't wait get back in. This isn't my first or second nail stop in Davis since 2012, but it sure is the ONLY nail shop I'll ever visit in Davis again. Have been coming here for about half a year now.
