EDIT #2: A bit after posting this review, the shop reached out offering to help resolve this situation. They asked me to contact them via Instagram DM, which I did. Based on our conversation I believe they only reached out because they wanted me to remove this review, not because they wanted to actually help me out. Because I had both attempted to call the shop with no answer and visit there in person during open hours and no one was there, I was forced to wait until the following day to try again. Unfortunately, within 7 hours of me visiting the shop the earring had become embedded and infected, and required immediate medical attention. I expressed all of this information to the shop via IG DM, and asked if I could have the money for the piercing refunded to me. I did not ask for the jewelry to be refunded, as I had selected that myself, but I thought asking for the piercing to be refunded was more than fair. This was because it was $40, the hospital stated the earring ultimately had to be removed specifically because of the way it was pierced, and because I now have medical bills to pay. The shop refused, basically implying that I should have "tried harder" to come in, and instead offered to re-pierce me for free. As you can imagine, I definitely do not want to be re-pierced by a shop where I had to ultimately go through all this. As stated before this is my 6th piercing, so I feel pretty confident in my ability to take care of and maintain a piercing done correctly. I asked one more time if I could be refunded just the piercing cost, stating all the above reasons before and adding that I would not feel comfortable being pierced again in that shop. They ultimately refused, and I did not appreciate the person on the other side of the DM saying they were "sorry I felt that way" in regard to my experience, instead of truly apologizing. I would recommend you look elsewhere for your piercing needs, there are several other good shops in Davis, Woodland, and West Sacramento you could check out (with working phones and websites!)
EDIT: Less than 12 hrs after posting this review, the earring became completely embedded in my ear and I had to go to the ER to get it removed. They believe it was pierced crookedly and they also said it was one of the worst embedded earring cases they had seen. This is with following aftercare instructions and cleaning btw- it was my 6th piercing so I've been around the block before and had zero issues with my other 5. I'd suggest looking elsewhere for your piercing needs.
original review: I got a conch piercing about 2 weeks ago, and it seems like it is crooked and is causing my ear to become very irritated/ inflamed, and I'm worried it might be infected. I'm not so much worried about the piercing because I can always get it removed, but I have no idea how you're supposed to get in touch with anyone in the store. The website barely works, you have to physically visit the store to make an appointment by scanning a QR code (super inconvenient because they don't do same day appointments) and today when I showed up to try and get someone to look at my irritated piercing, nobody was there, it was dark, and the doorbell was gone. It was around 4:30pm on a Tuesday, a time when the shop is supposed to be open. Nobody ever answers the phone either, and I guess you could leave a voicemail but they don't call you back. Confused and fairly...
Ā Ā Ā Read moregot my septum pierced by Regina, was practically painless and healed easily with no complications!
went back again to get two lobe piercings on one ear which were done by another piercer there (i do not remember her name) and as she did them i felt sharp pain in my earlobe but i thought that was normal. the rest of the day my ear was throbbing but i thought nothing of it, but within the next couple of weeks i would feel sharp pain in my ear on and off. i messaged the studio's instagram and they told me it was most likely just irritation from me accidentally hitting my ear. fast forward to 4 months later and my ear was STILL having issues with both piercings (sharp pain, random swelling, blood). i moved to another state so i couldn't really come back here to ask them, and i went to a local piercer instead. i described the issues i was having with my ear the piercer immediately pointed out how both piercings were incorrectly/awkwardly placed and that the previous piercer had most likely nicked the cartilage in my ear, as well as the possibility of the jewelry causing irritation. in the end i had him remove them and there was visible irritation/blood. it's been nearly a month and those two holes are almost nearly healed with little pain.
it just sucks that i spent money on two piercings and two jewelry pieces just to have to have them removed in the end...the people here are friendly and Regina is a great piercer!! my advice would be to just check out who is going to be doing your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have went to Urban body Tattoo and Piercing twice now. The first time I went to get a piercing. The experience was relatively okay. The lady who gave me my piercing was not talkative and she seemed rushed to just get the job done. The peircing hurt a lot more than it should have because she did not use any piercings techniques to distract me from the pain. I did not mind that much but it just seemed unprofessional. The second time I went here was recently, I was looking to find a tattoo artist to do a small tattoo of my grandmas name on my arm since she had recently passed. I have had many tattoo artists do work on me, the majority of them were professional and nice. When I walked into Urban Body tattoo and piercing to ask about my tattoo, I showed who I believe to be the owner a picture of the font and size I would have liked. He proceeded to laugh at me and ask if I was ājokingā. I believe he reacted this way because I looked a bit younger considering I wasnāt wearing makeup and my other tattoos were covered with my clothing. He was very rude and uninviting. I liked this place before because it has a nice location but I will never go back considering the service you receive and how rude the artists and piercers are. I ended up getting my tattoo at Old Sac Tattoo, they were very inviting and did great work. I would recommend them over Urban body Tattoo and...
