So to start, the food here, when made right, is incredible. The big problem I have here is your experience completely revolves around whether the women or men are working. Now the genders are irrelevant. It's just who all happens to be there and they're all the same gender so it should be easy for the establishment, if they read this, to find the problem people. For whatever reason when the women are working, I've never ever had an order taken down right. On top of that once it's been "corrected" it still comes out wrong. And it's not just a one time thing. I've been here 7 times. The first time was when the two guys were working. Everything was incredible and made right the first time. Everytime the men have made the food same I've had the same exact experience. But every single time the women are there my order was taken wrong and made wrong. So far they've been there 3 of the 7 times. The last, it took them 3 attempts to get the food right and after the 3rd time I just said screw it and left with what I had. Still made wrong. I can't risk driving a town over to hope the right people are working so it might be a little while before I try again. If things are better with those employees at that point I can change this to better represent the food. Unfortunately a couple of people just ruin the experience as a whole.
Last note... The person who ordered after me had the same exact problem...
Read moreFood: do NOT buy the chow fun. My partner got the Singapore style and I got the beef. His seemed to be seasoned with just siracha, and had no taste beyond that. Mine however had NO flavor, and even less beef. For a dish to be labeled "Beef" I would like more than 4 little chunks of beef.
Service: My partner and I were in line together when the cashier decided it was time to clock out and just left, leaving a line while the other employees were busy doing other tasks. When we were finally helped the lady (I never got her name) was very polite, and recommended me the food mentioned above. (not her fault they didn't taste very good).
Atmosphere: If you like unventilated and muggy environments this is for you. While you sit at the tables that haven't been cleaned all day, you can look around and enjoy the cramped interior. For extra umph they even had an overflowing trashcan next to the drinks!
Price: the only good part about this place, and what made it appealing. alas, the quality shows in...
Read moreGood value for the price, I can see how this place is popular with college kids.
The guy manning the wok knows how to get that nice seared “wok hey” that only a super hot wok can produce. The pork belly fried rice and the beef chow fun had excellent wok hey.
Good first approximation of cantonese style food. Here’s a free consultation: 1)use a lower sodium content soy sauce, will help flavors pop 2)add a dash of sugar and msg to help round out the flavor profile. 3)increase the amount of white pepper in the beef chow fun and the fried rice 4) once cooking is done, toss with a few drops of sesame oil to add aromatic dimension
then the food will be absolutely muy bien! Senior, you are already better than most of the asian restaurants around, this will put you into the most revered Asian Aunty level of cooking.
I wish more people cooked like you. You know how to stir fry and not just add “heat” to the food.
For sure we’ll be back the next time we...
