The best selection of produce around! What I love and appreciate the most though is that the produce is always FRESH! This year was tough on the crops, and it is genuinely hard to find good, quality produce anymore when it comes to certain fruits and vegetables. I feel like yellow onions, garlic, grapefruit, strawberries, and grapes all suffered this year and out of all the stores I shop at, it has been hard finding batches that aren't starting to go bad. It's like you look through bags of them for 10 minutes and can't find a single one, and going through individual ones you may find a few that pass. But every time I come to Randazzo's I leave feeling SO glad I went there, with fresh produce in tow!
I especially love going there in the fall to take photos of all of the pumpkins, squash, etc. They have such a lovely, simple, photo-ready setup
The only thing I don't like is the attitude/demeanor of some of the employees. Like, I was going through grapefruit, buying 12 single ones and 1 bag of 6, and it's like he was just standing there watching me, and as soon as I was done looking on one side of the grapefruit to then go over to the other side, he went in there and was restacking them. At first I'm like ok, he's just doing his job, but he did it again, then again over by the bagged grapefruit. Like dude, give me some space please. It was really uncomfortable and awkward because just looked annoyed as heck, but if I'm spending $25 on grapefruit, best believe I'm going through it and picking the best ones. Over by the bagged grapefruit, I had set one on the top as a "maybe" before going to the other side, and immediately he dove in and started moving everything (even though it didn't need to be, i intentionally tried to leave it as I had found it so as not to make his job harder). Like, he was being so aggressive by the individual grapefruit that some of the mandarins/tangerines flew off and tumbled to the floor on my side, which I picked up for him.
Also, some of the ladies at the checkout often seem extremely preoccupied with their own ongoing personal conversations. Like, the last time I went my cashier didn't even say Hi, didn't engage at all, didn't say Bye or "have a nice day", literally just acted cold and annoyed that I was there...
Read moreIt took me quite some time to catch on and jump on the Randazzo's bandwagon but what I can tell you now is that I am glad that I did.
Simply put, this place has unbeatable produce prices (which I am pretty sure they are known for), and the quality of the produce is much better (in most cases) than many other local grocery stores. You also really cannot beat the variety they carry either. I don't think there is a grocery store around that carries such a wide variety of fruits and vegetables. They also don't always have the same things, so if you're looking for something specific that you're not finding. It wouldn't hurt to ask or just just keep checking back if you're frequently in the area.
I actually started venturing here for my reptiles, not really for myself. That may sound silly but when you have a myriad of reptiles that eat produce, the cost quickly adds up when shopping at those other more expensive places. I can also get just the amount of something I need here rather than having to buy a whole bunch or bushel of something like you often have to do at other places.
I also don't think that I have ever been here when it wasn't incredibly busy. This place overall isn't very big, so keep that in mind when coming here. It's a very popular place, so it gets and feels congested quite easily, which is fine there just isn't much "wiggle room" while you're trying to do your shopping.
My only real complaint is that the parking lot here is not great, and not only does it seemingly fill up right before your eyes, the way it's laid out makes it feel very congested and it's hard to get around especially if you have a bigger vehicle, and because of how busy this place pretty much continuously is, you might find yourself driving in circles for a minute or two looking for a spot to park.
When all is said and done, if you're looking for decent quality produce at excellent prices, then this is your place. You really cannot go wrong with what they have to offer (even if you don't...
Read moreWas able to collect all my veggies for the week quickly after work. I eat only whole plant foods. I don't eat meat, dairy, oil, salt, sugar or processed foods, so you can only image the amount of fresh veggies, and fruits, that I consume in a week. The shopping cart is always overflowing. They had all the registers open on a Saturday at 6pm, so I didn't have to wait inline long, with only 1 person being checked out in front of me. There huge selection has been the only food store that I have shopped at for the past 2 years. Thank you for keeping this vegetarians wallet happy happy, and saving me a lot of money on fresh fruits, and veggies. The friendly clerks frequently ask me if I own a restaurant, because of the amount or veggies and fruits that I buy weekly. Thank you Joe Randazzo's Fruit Market for keeping me healthy, with your great selection or fresh plant foods. With every bite you take, you are either fighting disease, or feeding disease. I choose health.
Thanks you...
