I usually dine in to this place during the week for dinner and occasionally during the week for lunch over the span of about 3 years. The food is generally pretty good. The 1 star is for their menu execution, organization, and customer service. I almost always get a cheese burger with fries. In the past, it came as a combo with fries and a drink for a little under $8. Now the drink is entirely separate. Why? Soft drinks are not a commodity item where the price fluctuates like ground beef or chicken does in the market. Lame excuse to just get over on customers. Since the cheeseburger only comes with 1 patty, I usually get a 2nd patty added to it. How much on average is an extra patty at ALL of the other burger joints in Dearborn/Dearborn Heights? Usually $1.75 or $1.99. Kabob Inn charges you $4 for an extra patty. The single burger alone is $6. At that point, you might as well just offer me two single burgers. "CAUTION". We went here on July 8 (Sunday). Who closes at 8pm on a Sunday? People don't eat dinner until 7pm. C'mon now. We arrived around 7:15PM, sat down, waited for the waitress. The main section was pretty busy considering it was dinner time. They only had one waitress. She was very polite and was doing her best. We asked for 3 waters. She made her way to the next table to take their order and we expected to get our waters the next time she came around (which never happened) so we could place our food order too all at once. At no point did any of the 3 employees behind the counter come out to the main floor to help the waitress take orders or at least pass out the bread or water. They had one guy cleaning up tables but it was to keep seating more people who began to come in. It seems like they were just concerned with getting more people in the door. I know it works, get people in and out. One of the members of our party suggested the Burger Shack a stones throw away for burgers. After about 12 minutes of not getting any water or getting our food order placed, we got up to leave. I told the guy (younger guy with the pony-tail/manbun cleaning off tables that we are leaving because we hadn't got served and that it's not on the ONE waitress, it's on the other co-workers. He had smirk on his face, didn't even try to get us to stay , nor did he apologize. I asked him "why are you laughing? Do you like seeing money walk out?" He replied while laughing "I'm not laughing".
Awful customer experience. Glad I found a new burger spot in Burger Shack next door.....
Next time don't leave your entire dining area in the hands of ONE waitress. I legit felt bad for the girl. Next time, offer a remedy to the party that walked out instead of smirking. This goes for the 3 people behind the counter just collecting money. That's all they were concerned with is just collecting money.
Awful customer experience. Glad I found a new burger spot in Burger Shack...
Read moreUpdate #3 (I hope the final one) The restaurant contacted me about my review, and they expressed the desire to make things right. They have made some changes that have prompted me to alter my review.
I received an apology, and I believe it to be genuine. Most importantly, I received an amazingly beautiful replacement salad!!! With the promise that it would not happen again. I purchase a lot of food here and pay a little more because of the quality. I hope that going forward that I will not have another experience like this one.
Restaurants are not perfect; I just expect that they will correct mistakes that render your food inedible. Here's a new picture.
But I'm only giving 4 stars because I did not get the feta cheese that I requested. I mistakenly confused the garlic paste for the cheese when I picked it up.
Update.... Note the response from the owner. There is no offer to make a decent salad as compensation because of my negative experience TWICE. You can clearly see how awful it looked. Here is another picture. All I was offered was an opportunity to take more of my money. I live near Dearborn. There is no reason that I would pay for another salad at this place.
If you want an overpriced fattoush salad with a very large amount of brown and white lettuce, and freezer burned cucumbers this is the place for you. And as an added bonus the staff people are condescending and rude when you have the nerve to complain.
I called about the quality of the first salad and I was instructed to refrigerate it and return for a new one. (Telling me to put it in the refrigerator makes me worry that they will be reusing the ingredients in someone else's order.) When I did return, this picture is what I received. I also asked for a side order of shawarma chicken with the replaced salad, and I was told I had to pay for that. I knew that it was an additional item that I had to pay for, but where is the customer service? I think an offer to give me the chicken for free would have been a nice gesture, especially since I had to suffer the inconvenience and extra cost of returning it back to them.
Because the quality of the food has gone down while the prices are continuing to rise, I will not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Kabob Inn with a party of 18 for iftar during Ramadan, and I cannot express how wonderful the experience was! From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional. We were welcomed warmly, and our meal began promptly with delicious lentil soup and refreshing Fattoush salad, served within minutes after we sat down.
Shortly after, the feast was upon us, they actually and “The Feast” on the menu, featuring an impressive array of dishes that were nothing short of perfect. All in a tray, we had 3 orders of The Feast. The centerpiece of l The Feast included fragrant brown rice, shish tawook, beef kebab, and shish kafta, with beef and chicken shawarma on the sides. The brown rice was phenomenal, made primarily with Ouze rice, cooked with ground beef and aromatic spices, and topped with crunchy nuts. The beef kebab was incredibly tender and juicy, while the shish kafta was expertly spiced—balanced and bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed the juicy shawarmas that left everyone raving about their taste.
The deboned chicken was another highlight, cooked in a zesty sauce that added incredible depth to the dish; the kids absolutely loved it! And I can’t forget about the round Kibbe and hummus, which were amazing as well.
For something a little different, we indulged in the Lebanese pizza, which was surprisingly light—so good that you could easily finish an entire pizza by yourself! Being vegetarian, it featured fresh olives that were obviously imported from Lebanon, not canned, making all the difference in taste.
Overall, every one of my guests was thoroughly impressed by the food and the outstanding service at Kabob Inn. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, making me feel as if I owned the place ourselves. This impressive team truly knows how to provide a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend Kabob Inn for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Lebanese cuisine in a warm and inviting atmosphere! The only unfortunate incident was that the food was delicious and we were too hungry to think about taking pictures to post 🤤. Thank...
