Stopped in here to get a burger and fries to take back to work for lunch. As I was reading the menu, I asked the guy in front of me what he ordered and he said the "brisket fries" and a hot dog. Brisket fries.... sold! The young lady behind the counter said that they had ribs today as well. Ribs....sold!
The service was quick. The young lady who took my order was very professional, nice, and informative! Extra points to her for recommending the rib! Apparently the rib option is on on Wednesdays.
It wasn't just ribs, it was a huge beef rib, beans, corn bread, mac and cheese, and coleslaw! It was a "dinner" to be sure!
The "brisket fries" which I believe are their Detroit loaded fries, was a very generous portion!
As far as how everything tasted.... the rib was so tender, jucy and flavorful! Literally fell off the bone! No knives were used during me eating any of this! Lots of napkins, but no knives! The corn bread was soft and moist, with lots of flavor. The beans got better and better with every bite! The mac and cheese, was a cut above other mac and cheese! You could tell this was house made! Now the coleslaw.... to be fair I hate the stuff. All those Ruben sandwiches... you just ruin great sandwiches by adding the stuff, in my opinion. So I figured I would try a bite and then throw it away.... welp I was sorely mistaken! At first look, it barely looks like what I imagine when I hear "coleslaw " there is some corn and I discovered after like my mouth bite parmagrante seeds in there too! And the use of what I can only guess is their spicy mayo made this a coleslaw I will eat from here on out!
The Detroit loaded fries.... exceeded everything I could hope for! You dont just get plain soggy greasy fries with some meat on top... you get wonderfully crispy seasoned fries, that are amazing on their own, topped with some of the most tender brisket I have ever had!
My stomach and mouth argued with each other as I proceeded to devour this food! My stomach needed to stop as it was beyond full! My mouth would not let my hands stop shoveling more and more food into it, because it tastes so good! After eating two thirds of everything I literally had to throw my fork across the room and declared that I need to stop eating!
(This whole order was enough for 2 to 3 people)
I am left with some leftovers, that I can't wait to eat! And being Thanksgiving Day full!
So task failed successfully. I went in for a burger and fries. I left with the most beautiful and delicious lunch! I look forward to going back to try thier burger and fries... however it will be a burger and the Detroit...
Read moreLittle to know where to sit inside, when I came inside, the guy was on the phone taking orders. He’s all doing this himself and then somebody’s waiting in front of me to pick up his order. He gave her her order and then he’s asked me what I needed and stuff in, etc. I kind of felt like he was rushing me a little bit but whatever that’s fine . I have never been here before so I had no idea. I did look at the menu beforehand to make sure I was ready so I wasn’t holding up the line that was already out the door out of nowhere . The seating they’re like little tiny barstools or something with barely the counter space it became very packed in there quickly with five or six adults in there the place is very small. They are no restrooms whatsoever, which was an absolute horror with a toddler. I asked the man if there was any restrooms and he said no there isn’t any sorry that I need to go across the street to Wendy’s or try the kebab place to the right of the store .. so Waited about 25-30 minutes for a cheese steak with Cajun fries and a kid cheeseburger with fries. The burger and fries must’ve been good. My daughter is beyond picky and she ate absolutely everything with no hesitation which is like I said a shock . The fries does not come with ANY meal, which was kinda really weird. I upgraded to the ribeye cheesesteak. The flavor is there. There’s definitely not a lot of meat on it. The bread was flat to a pancake, and very crunchy. So to which I was kind of shocked you could see in the picture. The parking is nonexistent. Literally, you have to park on the curb illegally or next to this auto shop which it literally says right there if you park at your own risk , you could be towed because that’s not their parking lot so I was constantly looking at my car to see if anybody is going to be doing anything with it. The traffic to get into this place is insanity. It just doesn’t make sense. I don’t understand how there’s not a parking lot besides that flavor wise the food was really good but for the price eh. Specially, with all the other stuff I just mentioned. I might try again maybe when it’s not 5 o’clock maybe I’ll have a...
Read moreOk I been passing this place for a long time, finally got to try. Now bear with me. I'm am old chef and know food well, so here's my take. First the parking sucks. Hard to get in. Go around the block and come in from the back. Now I wanted a double cheeseburger. Should have asked the weight of the single cause a double was huge. My wife eat the other half. So burger was packed with everything I wanted. The cook recommended a few things and was great. Both were friendly and informative for my first time. Now I should have looked at the price of the onion rings but I missed it. Oh yeah double burger was 10.00. And worth it , it was but onion rings were 7.00. There were 7 rings, so a dollar a onion ring, well hell I could've got a burger for that. They were not home made but a package item and they sucked. I eat 3 and threw out the rest. No way worth a dollar a piece. Should have went for the fries. No carry out menu, bad parking, and the place is small. So I give the burger a 4, the onion rings are a waste of my seven bucks. The service and the 3 people were great. The cook said they were trying a special next week, an Elvis burger with peanut butter. Thxs but no thxs, but if this works for u then go try it out. All and all I would definitely go back. Oh yeah expensive menu. I would like to try the brisket...
