Let me preface this with, "I'll return to this Ace Hardware but not for cat food".
We had switched to a grain free food for our cats and purchased "Taste of the Wild" cat food at this location this past Summer. They did have to order it in from another store, however, as their cat food on hand had a "Best By" date of 5+ months earlier which I was not going to purchase. It was mentioned that they turn their dog food a lot faster than the cat food.
It didn't seem to be too much of a concern to the employee I mentioned it to as the same bags of food were there approx 2-3 weeks later when I returned to buy more.
At that point, regardless of any cost savings and to avoid the hassle of Ace bringing in cat food from another store, I researched other cat food brands and am now feeding them "Blue". Unfortunately, Ace lost my business regarding our pets.
The positive...Ace Hardware's prices on "Taste of the Wild" are substantially lower than Bentley's Pet Stuff, hence, why I was excited about this discovery. Petco doesn't carry this brand.
The negative...compromised quality on multiple bags of cat food due to "Best By" dates dated months earlier.

Read moreWent to get my propane tanks filled. Ran the bell 3 times in 20 minutes. No one came out. Went in and 5 employees standing around the cash register. I ask if someone can fill the propane tanks. They said they’d call someone. After waiting 10 more minutes. Went in and asked for a manager. He was one of the five still standing around the cash register. When I told him what happened. He just turned and walked away. Will never go back.
