Oh my god I was so so disappointed in my experience here. I had a first time appointment that included a box braid take down. I was really excited as I drove an hour and some change to this beautiful salon. Immediately the woman who I booked with was visibly and audibly upset that I had braids. She stated it was going to take “forever” (it only took 45 minutes and it takes 30 if I do it myself). My braids were only 2 months old and well kept and hydrated. I would never come in with them being a mess knowing they would take a long time. When she had help, the woman who helped said my braids were small but nice and the woman I booked with goes “..too small”. It was not an extremely busy day, I was the only person in the salon, and it wasn’t late it was almost 3pm. The woman I booked with goes “…and it’s only $60 we charge for braids this small?”. If I had known it was going to be such a problem I would have had no problem doing it at home or just staying home honestly. This was happening within the first ten minutes of me being there which was insane especially as a first time client. But that wasn’t what bothered me most. There was absolutely NO assessing my hair or going over my needs and history like my first time appointment said there would be which I really value as my hair is a very important and emotional topic for me. But what was the nail in the coffin for me was harshly raking a dry comb through my hair very clearly just trying to get done. I’m not tender headed at all but the yanking from different directions was insane. I could literally see the amount of breakage coming from my hair and I honestly could cry from it. Now I know shedding is normal especially when you’ve had braids for 2 months but this was far more than shedding. There was no product involved at all just straight dry raking with a comb. At one point she pulled so hard that a meatball sized clump of hair came out and prior to that she was complaining how she would have to detangle next. DRY detangling on a braid take down of Type 4 textured hair?? I’m not a licensed stylist but I know my hair that grows from my head. My hair has come a long road from being damaged in the past to being healthy again just to have all that work and time reversed. What she was struggling to comb out easily would have come out with just a LITTLE bit of oil. I was so upset I couldn’t even think straight. The woman helping me laughs to the other girl helping her that my hair wasn’t as long as I said it was after 45 minutes of breaking my hair off. Can you imagine trusting a new salon with your hair, your TYPE 4B HAIR and they break your hair off and laugh to their co-worker that it’s not as long as you told her it was? After that point there was nothing that could make me even think to come back. It is a beautiful salon but now my hair is damaged and theres nothing I can do about it. Prior to getting there, I was going to ask for a trim as I forgot to add it on my booking but after how they treated detangling and even just cutting the braids? Hell no. I absolutely kept my mouth shut about that trim. So now, I’m having to book another appointment somewhere else and have to work to build back what was lost. Look, I’m not a review person AT ALL. I literally never leave one but this was just too crazy to not leave anything. I was so tearful about it on the drive home. Nothing could convince me...
Read moreThis salon has been unprofessional and seems to have deceptive practices in my experience. After multiple last minute cancellations we stopped taking our daughter to this salon for a few years. We tried giving them another chance at their new location and scheduled braids for our daughter for a 340.00 knotless braid special that included the braiding hair. 3/4 of the way through the stylist told us she didn’t have anymore of the hair she was using and wanted to complete the service with another type of hair. My daughter did not like that idea so we went to buy more braiding hair. We drove to 3 different stores to try to buy more hair but it was late on a Saturday and most stores were closed or didn’t have the hair. The stylish finished the braids with another type of hair she had on hand and said she would correct it the next week, free of charge and would book the appointment as a fix. We brought our daughter back the next week and had it fixed. We then got an additional $ 180.00 charge on our credit card that we didn’t authorize on top of the 485.00 (340.00 service fee plus a generous tip we had paid the week before). We also didn’t have that card on file so we are not sure how they were able to charge the card without it being present. I’m led to believe they went and pulled our card number from the previous appointment which is concerning about how card data is stored. Once I saw the charge, we called to inquire why we were charged again the owner made up an excuse and blamed us for not buying enough hair ( we didn’t buy the hair, it was included). The hair they had on hand and added in after they ran out of the first type of hair matted after a week but luckily after they corrected it at the $180.00 correction appointment, it looked okay. It definitely doesn’t look like a 520.00 + 150.00 tip hair style and it’s sad that they don’t stand behind their work...
Read moreThe staff is very friendly very professional and I love the set up. But unfortunately I wasn’t Happy with my last visit. I booked my appointment 3 months in advance for my first WEDDING day and I personally told the owner I needed me and my daughters hair done the morning of the wedding. The appointment was for 9:00 my wedding was at 3:30. They double booked our appointment for 1 stylist. The owner said she would be the one to do my hair but she didn’t show up until after 1:00 and I was still in the chair and my daughter still needed her hair done. When the owner came in instead of her acknowledging me she completely ignored me and had another client sitting in her chair. When the stylist told her she needed help she was running behind instead of her jumping in to help she acted like if was the stylist fault she was behind and sent other people to help. I was floored, this being my wedding day I should have been a priority and she should have been there that morning. I didn’t leave the shop until after 2:00 still needing makeup done my photographer was waiting on me and my daughter didn’t get done until after 3:00. This made my makeup artist rush to do her job and it was just so inconsiderate. They have always done a good job on my hair but the fact that I was there for 6 hours was ridiculous and I will not return. As a bride your already stressing and this is something I should not have been worried about. So I won’t be going back for that reason that was so unprofessional on her part as a business owner you take care of your customers. And she didn’t do anything to ease the stress. The other ladies did a great job and jumped right in she should be thankful for her staff those ladies are amazing. But she definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. They are the reason I gave...
