Sorry for the long review that you are about to read. Such a shame. The place has a serene and clean ambiance, but the overall experience fell flat.
I want to state the positives first. The guy receptionist was nice and welcoming. All of the equipment and supplies were new and clean. My nails came out decent.
Unfortunately, those are the only good things from this experience. I was initially excited to try this place out. I had a photo inspiration, which was very easy to follow (2 colors, 1 nail with a flowery design). I showed her the design and she seemed confused. Another lady checked and they talked about it. I had a feeling she wouldn’t be able to execute the simple flower design, so I told her that it’s okay to just stick with the 2 colors. I asked her if she can find the colors for me and she said yes. I had chipped regular polish that just needed acetone to take it off, but instead, she soaked them in the foil as if it was gel or dip, wrapped in plastic, and let me deal with my 30-min soaked hands all clammy and pruned while I was doing my pedi. It was totally unnecessary. Mid pedi I asked if I can remove it, she said no it’s ok just leave it. Then, she gave me the color options, which I thought she already took care of. Oh and when I got to my chair, there wasn’t water yet, so I had to feel the extra hot water run until I said something. Also, I don’t mind nail techs talking in their own language when I’m in a salon, but this experience made me very uncomfortable. I can tell she was talking to her co-worker and guessing my nationality while staring at me and my bf every single minute. The other co-workers kept on doing it too. I stared back long enough for them to look away LOL. I have never done that in a nail salon ever. Every time I said something she shrugged me off with a smile. I know she’s a nice lady, they’re all are, but I wish they were able to tell social cues that I wasn’t comfortable. Even my bf said at the end of our appointment that he felt the whole 2 hrs was just awkward. This is his 4th time getting a pedi in general, and this was the only time he said something about his discomfort. Plus, it was disappointing that his nails weren’t as clean as the other 3 times he had it at other salons. She also offered stickers for the design. That was weird. To top it off, my left thumb nail was cut crooked and when I checked out with the nice receptionist, Tina kept on waiting on how much I would tip her. I’ve never had someone wait to see the tip behind the front desk unless it’s themselves checking me out.
This was not a good experience for me. I don’t think I’ll return but I want to give suggestions to the owner/manager. There is so much potential in this salon, but I think the nail techs need more training. Maybe I just had the less experienced nail tech because I saw some customers had designs on their nails. Nevertheless, I think a good reminder about making your customers feel comfortable and pampered is the goal. Maybe also try investing in bulk supplies rather than having individually packed products to prevent too much plastic waste. Thank you for taking this comment into...
Read moreLet it be known I went in pretending like I have never been to nail salon in my life. I was upsold at every possible moment including after I “no” multiplied times. Don did my pedicure and I think Kevin did my manicure. I am so happy with my pedicure 10 / 10! Don spent a proper amount of time removing ingrown nails and massaging my legs/feet. However, my nails are a different story. Kevin (older gentleman who checked me in) asked me if I wanted “to get my nails done at the same time at my toes” to which I said… “sure?” He proceeded to make the entire experience RUSHED & not all inclusive…. Meaning I did not receive the SAME manicure I would have received if I said “no thank you” to the offer of doing them “at the same time.” I was uncomfortable with crossing on arm over the other and could not breath or enjoy the message chair comfortably. I was also not offered a soak, a cuticle removal, or a nail trim prior to him buffing and then super gluing nails on as quick as possible - not even making sure the curved ends in the nails were properly glued! My thumb nail that was glue has cracked in the rushed experienced and he still kept his mistake on my thumb and put acrylic over it! There was no cure process/UV LIGHT applied for my nails freshly applied acrylic nails because I was in the pedicure chair - which led to morphed and not sleek looking nails! I have two pinky nails that go in completely different directions! Worst of all they charged me $134 (20% tip included because I am not a criminal)!!!!! I went here instead of my normal place because my guy Lamson works here (who wasn’t working this day I went in) now but I am so dissatisfied and beyond disappointed with my final product I could not recommend this...
Read moreI have always been satisfied with my nails when coming here but after my las visit it just made me realize why this is. I went somewhere else ti get my nails done and instantly regretted it. After a couple days the acrylic I have over my real nails started to crack and chip off. I had never had this happen when getting my nails done at Kendall’s nails. Regretting my decision to go somewhere else I came to Kendall’s to have them fix what was done. It’s been two weeks and they are still prefect! They took everything off and started completely over, and they did it all the correct way. I am now convinced they use better quality ingredients than most places and are trained to do things properly. I won’t be going anywhere else. Even if the service isn’t over the top, I can count on my nails being done with quality work and products.
Update: Loosing a couple stars. The last two times I have been here I have been rushed through and several steps have been skipped. I have had two different techs in both instances. Neither time felt relaxing in the least, and I am pretty sure I was over charged by $35 on the last visit. I always pay cash and hand over $140 which is usually enough to cover the $100-$113 service depending on if I get a design or not, plus leave a $20+ tip. Today I was only able to leave $5 because it was all I head left. The only thing is did different was add chrome instead of a design, which if this is why it was $35 more this time it was definitely a waste of money. The designs take way more time and effort than the chrome did. Will give them another try or two before making the decision to start trying new places, but the last two visits felt very chaotic and I was not even remotely satisfied with...
