My nails will take months to recover after my last experience at Lowry Nail Spa. I thought I had found my "forever" place there after my recent move to Denver. I had a mediocre experience at another spa and was thrilled with finding a place that could do good powder dip gel manicures - have had about 5 manicures with them and even gave my daughter a $200 gift certificate to the Spa.. A few days ago I called for an appointment with my usual technician and learned he had quit. I asked if anyone else was experienced with powder gels and they said yes. I made an appointment to have a mani-pedi, asking that they be done simultaneously, by different people, allowing the gels to soak for removal during the pedicure. 1) The technician who was assigned to the manicure rushed up about 5 minutes before my pedicure was done. 2) She barely put enough solution on the nails to soak the cotton, and sloppily put on foil wraps. About 5 minutes later, she yanked them off and started using the drill to roughly remove the gels. I should have stopped the procedure there, but didn't. 3) She started to begin the gel dip procedure and I told her the nails were not clean and needed to soak again. She reluctantly reapplied cotton with solution and wrapped the nails. She put very little solution on the cotton. When she pulled the wrap off - again, very quickly - they were still not clean. She started to drill on my nails again and I stopped her. I told her I would not proceed with the gel manicure and that she should just polish them with clear polish. Every one of my nails is very damaged, with deep ridges. One of my nails was bleeding. I have had to trim all down to the quick, almost, as they are all now paper thin and breaking. I've been having powder gels for about 6 years - and have always loved them - no problems. At my last appointment, with the technician who quit, he told me how healthy my nails were. This technician did not know what she was doing, and was being rushed because the salon was accepting all drop-ins and pushing their technicians. No one was supervising her activities and coaching her. I could do a better gel manicure than she - I know the exact steps. Upon leaving, I spoke with the owner, and she sweetly smiled and said she was sorry that happened to me, and then told me how much I owed. I paid, including a tip, which was not smart, and quickly left. About 10 minutes after I left, I received a call from the owner saying, once again, she was sorry I was not happy, and that she would tell her people not to rush. I will never go back. It is unacceptable that a salon like this doesn't ensure their people know exactly how to perform a procedure like this. It's one thing to get a manicure that doesn't look good, but it's quite another to get one that causes harm. It will probably be 6 - 8 months before my nails even begin to recover. Again, I loved this spa, but this one really awful experience, and the lack of any type of gesture to make it right, combine to make me never want to step foot in it again - and to warn my daughter about the gift certificate I gave her to use. Don't be shy about speaking up when you know something isn't being done correctly.

Awful experience. The guy that did my nails was actually so terrible. He used unsterilized, filthy equipment covered with old nail dust and ignored me multiple times when I asked him to get a fresh filing block. He didn’t sterilize my nails with alcohol, he didn’t clean under the nails, and he didn’t bother to do the “manicure” part, with lotion and massage. He was super rough and it hurt. He used a sanding band on my DRY CUTICLES and cut one of my fingers with it. He couldn’t get the tips on straight despite trying multiple times and it looks very DIY. He changed out the color I picked to a different one. He didn’t bother to fill in the edges AT ALL, so you can obviously see the plastic. All the nails are different lengths and different angles, they look like crooked teeth. He didn’t bother to glue down the tips very well so they hurt badly, they’re lifting up, and they are THICKKKK. He honestly just went as fast as he possibly could and did an awful job. My nails hurt so much and it looks like I need a color change even though it’s only been an hour. I’m still chipping off all the extra gel myself because he left the bottom sides messy, uneven, and jagged. There’s glue and paint on my fingers too. Who cures the gel nail polish onto someone’s skin?? Waste of time and money for sure.

I will say the owner did a nice job on my mothers nails and I appreciate her for “fixing” mine to the best of her ability but I will never return. The dip nail services I received were terrible. The gentleman who did my nails made it seem like an issue that I was not satisfied that the dip services I received. I asked for a manicure which he obviously did not hear me say because I had to ask him to do it after he was done with my nails. The sides did not look filled in and even after the extra $10 for the manicure my fingers were still left looking dry. I asked him if he could fix them and he basically said that’s how it’s gonna look . I was so unhappy I paid since I paid for my mothers too and I just asked the owner if she could just take them off in which she proceeded to filled in the job he did with regular nail powder. Not only that…I got my nails done Sunday and not one but TWO nails have broken doing everyday day things like opening the door!!!!!. I will never return to this nail salon again. My regular pedicure however was decent. If my nails wouldn’t have popped off like press on’s I wouldn’t have been so upset since the owner did attempt to make it look better before I left. I will not be returning to this nail salon

I debated writing a review but I spent too much money for what happened not to. I’ll start off by saying the girl that did my pedicure was actually nice and efficient and did a great job. -Other than that I’m so disappointed I won’t go back. I went in as a walk in I ask if they had time for a gel pedicure and a dip manicure. They said yes and proceeded to have my go pick my color, I showed a picture of an extremely basic milky white manicure I asked for help to match the picture and the lady said we have a lot of colors over there instead of helping me find the color. I proceeded with my pedicure and the lady came over to do my dip WHILE I WAS IN THE PEDICURE CHAIR which made me have to stay in a twisted position the whole time I was getting my nails done so I couldn’t even relax or use the massage function. Fine, no big deal that’s until the lady started DRY cuticle cutting me, I still stayed silent, she seemed absolutely miserable to even be there!! when she finally started shaping my nails half of them were different lengths but the pointer was way way too noticeable. so I spoke politely and said do you mind filing this down it’s longer then the rest she started talking to the girl doing my pedicure obviously about me and did one stroke to file it down which made no difference. She used her own finger nail to push down my cuticles and finished the job didn’t ask if I liked them nothing didn’t say all finished pulled up the side table. I had to go home and file my nails correctly I never get to treat my self to getting my nails done but I’m going to Europe and really wanted to feel good on vacation Instead I spent 120 dollars plus tip for a botched ,unpleasant, back hurting experience. I’ll never be back...

My friend and I went to this salon a couple of weeks ago. I didn't feel the need to write a review, however, upon reading some of the other low ratings, I feel I have to chime in as well, for warning sake. My friend and I got service here pretty quickly, which was nice. She got a set of acrylics and an eyebrow wax and I got mani (dip gel) and pedi. My pedicure went well, though I agree with the other comments who have said the massage part was pretty lackluster. My manicure is where I had the issue. I got a really cute design done (as they were my birthday nails) but was cut and drilled into multiple times. I have a very high pain tolerance and do not like to complain, however, there reached a point where I had to pull my hand away from pain. When I was told I could go wash my hands I looked down at my nails and my cuticles had been drilled into and were visibly bleeding. My tech's solution to my bleeding was shoving a cotton swab (soaked in a substance I didn't know) to stop the visible bleeding. After we left my friend told me that her nail tech was very rude when she asked for shorter length and refused to cut them down, as "this looks better." She showed me her final set and it was very evident that the nail tech had rushed her and when she got her eyebrows waxed, the tech got wax in her hair. The ladies at this salon were pretty nice, though I would warn future customers that the rushing does seem to be an issue and there seems to be a lack of understanding of customer comfort. It was also pretty pricey for the...
