The new favorite saying in 2020 is we are in unprecented times, and that we are. The Hair and Image Studios (T.H.I.S) has adapted very well to this ever changing year. Take it from me I am a worry wart and have taken extreme precautions to make sure myself and family are healthy in response to this pandemic . So with that preface I’d like to say that Joy and the other women of T.H.I.S. have taken every measure possible to make sure they and their guests are as safe as possible. Upon arrival you get your temp taken, sign a form that you haven’t had a fever or any symptoms recently and you wash your hands or at least sanitize them, and everything is sanitized immediately after it’s been used that includes seats. Everyone wears a mask and there is no one allowed in the building if a service isn’t being performed or they aren’t working. Joy and team have made it very comfortable to get services during this time when close interactions are somewhat risky.

As I’ve said in other reviews Joy is a consummate professional. She is so friendly, personable and knowledgeable! I have been going to Joy for several years now and my hair is thriving and the healthiest it’s been probably since I was a kid. When I first went to Joy my hair as so heat damaged we had to cut a lot of it off, but she gave me a cute lob as I embarked on my healthy hair journey.

Joy is a healthy hair specialist, ok!! Regardless of the service you’re getting, whether it be a relaxer, natural, coloring, weave installation Joy makes sure your hair is healthy!! She gives you the tools so you know how to care for your hair in between appointments, and is always happy to explain a procedure or answer a question. I’m a fan of Joys TLC and Platinum treatments! She’s got a wonderful steamer that trust me your hair needs in this dry Colorado weather! Also Joy is a wonderful colorist, she’s given me a beautiful auburn reddish color recently. The team at T.H.I.S is incredibly professional and provides QUALITY work. Also, in the midst of COVID they do a great job with keeping everyone safe, socially distanced, wearing masks, disinfecting equipment, and checking temperatures/symptoms at the door. As a healthcare provider, I felt very safe and didn’t have any concerns. We washed our hands together upon arrival and the appointment begin. T.H.I.S took care of my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot, and let me tell you...They EXCEEDED my expectations. Joy and her assistant Jasmine worked on my hair. Joy took the time to brainstorm with me and come up with a look that was tailored to me and my hair type. She also took the time to gather my hair history and figure out looks I normally gravitate to. We came up with an idea that worked out SO well because I had to get my hair done the day before and needed to make sure it would last. Also, when she asks you about getting a steam treatment...GET THE STEAM TREATMENT! It’s so nice and your hair will thank you. Then, there was a mixup with my photographer, so the photoshoot had to get pushed up a day sooner. T.H.I.S jumped right in and thankfully was able to accommodate me. I came in the next day to get my makeup done with Bridgette. She is so thorough before the appointment. Asks a few questions about makeup history, asks for inspiration photos, and also requests pictures of your face with & without makeup so she can study your face and tailor the look you want to you. Bridgette did such an amazing job! I just can’t say enough about the team at T.H.I.S. They provide excellent and quality service. Booking with them should be the least of your worries. What an incredible salon! I had such an amazing experience today from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. I recently moved to Denver and was looking for someone to take care of my curls because my hair was having trouble adjusting to the dry climate and am so glad I found Joy and her team!

As a new client, the total hair renewal package was exactly the refresh my hair needed since it comes with a scalp treatment, steam treatment, styling and trim but honestly I'm probably forgetting some things because I felt like I got so much value for the price! Ari (a curl whisperer) walked through every single step of each service with me and answered all the questions I had regarding washing, styling and maintaining my natural curls. I feel like I'm much more equipped to keep up with my hair between appointments now.

I never once felt rushed or neglected during my session and appreciated the extra time both Ari and Joy took to ensure I loved my cut and my curls. Joy even offered to lightly reshape my hair if a few curls decided to rebel after a couple days, which was so thoughtful of her and showed how much she cares about her clients and their satisfaction when they leave her salon.
