There is nothing all that great about this place. It has food. Thats about where it ends. At first glance, it seems like an attractive establishment to have a meal, as the menu selections look and sounds delicious, the service is friendly, and the joint is eclectic and hip, and it just seems like a good place to have dinner, or lunch. Also, this side of Denver really doesn't have any place that even attempts to be what Chop Shop attempts to be. However, at the end of the day, I base my reviews about 85% on the food, and Chop Shop just doesn't have good food. Most everything, despite how it looks or sounds on the menu, is bland and flavorless. The only good food I ate at Chop Shop were the wings and rib niblets, but Denver has far better rib and wing options. If you want wings, go to Grillin Wings and if you want ribs, go to Kitchen Table Cafe because this place will not give you anything worthwhile. We also tried multiple other option for family of 4, tempura, slow cooked short rib, sirloin, trofie pasta, and 72 hour slow cooked onion bliss. None of these options came close to being tasty. I'm not sure what its wrong with people giving it good reviews. I suppose they must be deceived by friendly service and very good presentation because the flavor is not there. In fact, not only is the flavor not there, but anyone who can eat will leave hungry, as there portions more represent that of tapas bar, and for an equivalent price. I'm not reviewing the cost or portion size of my meal, but when I order that many options, I would like to leave full. The problem was that I didn't even want to order anything else off of the menu because I was so underwhelmed by the items we did order, so I went home somewhere else to top off my hunger after I lef this place. I cannot, for the life of me, understand what is appealing about this place... unless of course you enjoy...
Read moreThis place has gone downhill and I'd say a total nosedive and not returning. Ordered an entree which was missing some key ingredients, went back to the ordering counter and requested missing ingredient. I then noticed it had corn out of the can and I asked why it wasn't roasted. I was told, "oh our menu changed 6 months ago." I asked why is is the menu still reflecting something that isn't accurate as I made my menu choice based off description on the sign above the cashier? Shoulder shrug and walked off. I looked at what I ordered and it was just not edible, didn't even touch it. A 5yr old could have whipped this up and looked exactly the same with literally ZERO flavor. The total deal breaker was when I went back in and told them this was not edible, not as described and had key missing ingredients. I was told, "we will take care of this for you" by cashier so I waited....and waited and nothing, food was just tossed and that is what he meant by "we will take care of this for you" by throwing it away for me? The man who appeared to be managing the kitchen was aware of the complaint and completely ignored and avoided me with excellent success in avoiding eye contact. Unreal that a place charges you for a meal that's not edible, has more staff working than customers in the restaurant (should have been a warning) and we gave a 25% tip when really the wait staff doesn't do anything except bring your food out to you, the customer has to bus their own table and return to cashier to order anything additional. I posted my experience on social media and the responses I got were all that people hate this place and said, "it's one of the worst!". I did share my experience I was having with not only the business who did nothing but also those dining around me who asked what happened. Stay clear of this place! So many great dining experiences in Denver,...

This is some of the best food I’ve had since I went to a Michelin Star restaurant. The food is incredibly rich with layers of flavor, supreme texture, and creative combinations that keep you interested and hard to choose between many items. The apps, main items, desserts, all of them are great in their own way. The drinks are also creative with both familiar and interesting options to choose from in both N/A and alcoholic beverages. The interior has a modern feel that’s both comfortable and endearing. You can choose to sit closer to the kitchen where they prep the food, and the environment is like watching a well maintained and oiled machine run without any issues. Or you can sit further inside a back area with access to a patio. The service is superb with plenty of care and character from each staff member. The food came out timely and at the correct temperature. Plated invitingly without making you feel stressed about keeping falling food from going onto the table or your lap.
My favorite item is the chicken pastrami. A sandwich full of flavor and texture but doesn’t fall apart on you. I will keep coming here frequently so I don’t miss out on anything new.
