My Experience at Cannabist, NJ: 1 Star
Berry Haze is INDICA. NOT SATIVA. Yet Cannabist’s website lists it as their most potent Sativa vape. After spending nearly $1000 on this, I found out the hard way that their information is false. When I brought this up in-store today, the cashier dismissively told me, “No, it’s always been Indica,” and rolled his eyes when I expressed confusion. Instead of helping me find an alternative, he rattled off Fernway flavors so quickly I couldn’t follow. Strawberry Cough, which was in my cart online, wasn’t in stock either—no explanation, no help, just indifference.
This wasn’t my first bad experience. In August, I bought two defective 2G disposables that wouldn’t charge. When I returned four days outside the refund window, Tristan, a manager, was rude and dismissive. Even after returning with all three faulty vapes, I only got a replacement, with no resolution for the $250 I had already wasted.
Additionally, the older costumed employee at the door has been problematic. On my first visit, she put her hands on me and barked at me, shaming me in front of the crowded store for mistakenly entering the express line out of confusion. Today, while I was dictating a text on my watch, she startled me and bizarrely repeated the phone policy multiple times, ending with: “well I made sure I didn’t touch ya!”
The poor customer service is jarring. No Good Vibes here, man. Not Peace & Love at all. But that’s not what my issue is in the least.
Cannabist’s lack of quality control and misinformation is ALARMING. I don’t understand how anything here can be regulated with so much consistent error.
I’ve had three defective products out of four in two weeks, and there’s no consistency between their website and in-store menu. This is doubly concerning when you look up the product on the manufacturers website and see that the people who make it say it’s one thing, why does Cannabist’s differ? And why does Cannabists website contradict their in-store information and stock? The website is updated daily for sales, why not for accuracy regarding safety information that can affect the experience of the customer? How is this different than buying off the street and hoping you get what you asked and paid for?
Employees refuse to offer clarity regarding the In discrepancies and are typically too intoxicated to navigate the POS without a few fumbles, let alone compare numbers. Cannabist result is an unregulated, unreliable and unsafe dispensary that puts customers at risk. I’m concerned for older MEDICAL customers since staff can’t keep Sativa/Indica straight.
Legalization was supposed to bring taxation and regulation. I seeing the tax but not the regulation. Cannabist’s poor service and failure to address quality issues make it clear that customers are not their priority.
I wouldn’t recommend...
Read moreI was recently diagnosed with MS and told to try cannabis to see if it help with the many symptoms associated with this. Me and my husband went to purchase product and had a horrible experience. My husband asked what I’m sure was a ton of questions and was very indecisive. He apologized to the employee saying that he was sure he was driving him crazy with all his questions. The response was, “ya you are being a dick.” Really?! This is how you treat a new customer that needs help. My husband was never rude, and was excited at the possibility of finding something relief for me. If I could have gone myself I would have but I woke up with only partial vision and very bad weakness so I stayed in the car. I’m very upset that he actually still purchased what he had which was over $100. He said that he wanted to leave but thought of me first. Feel absolutely horrible he was treated like this all because of me. I did call and speak with Dylan who said he was the supervisor. I was advised he would talk to him, and apologized for the experience. Not really buying that they care at all. It felt like a very, “ok sorry bye” conversation. We were advised to try INDIGO, on rt 130 in Brooklawn, and could not believe the difference. They are amazing. The budtender actually asked him questions and made suggestion. He explained what might help and why. I can not stress more how amazing Indigo is. From the time you walk in till you leave. Everyone was happy and truly seemed like they cared about their customers. My husband said that there is a manager walking around just speaking with people asking how everything went as well Hoping this review may help someone. If you know what you want and you are running in and out maybe they are fine for you. If you need any advise though or want an amazing above and beyond experience I suggest Indigo...
Read moreBEAU is OUTSTANDING!! What a delightful individual!! I’m planning to specifically ask for BEAU my next visit!! Everyone is so kind at The Cannabist in Deptford! Bravo ! UPDATE; 4/22. Be careful when choosing their already rolled products, especially when their representative needs to shake the container to see how many “rolled” are in the tube. Three times, I’ve bought “rolled” in addition to their “flower” products. The first time, instead of two rolled ( as they stated) , they had ONE SMALL rolled in container. The second time the same thing happened. The third, same thing! After bringing this to the attention of their manager along with having my receipt’s she said they are including ONE “rolled” which is larger their policy changed.. This was Not the case in all three purchases. Now, FOURTH purchase and rep is shaking container stating “it sounds like one as it should be. “We changed our policy regarding “rolled, there has to be just one in the container .” Wrong again, this time there were two!” Get on board folks, it’s not the way to keep customers especially when several shops are popping up nearby. Just totally weird, not my idea of good customer service especially questioning my credibility?! I asked for nothing, my objective was wanting to bring this to their manager’s attention that mistakes were being made. Cannabist made good on NOT ONE OF MY PAST PURCHASES. I’m not making a purchase anywhere that would force me to count/weigh things in my car. I certainly didn’t buy a Happy Meal for my granddaughter double checking at the window to make certain her toy was included in the bag! Shame on me for...
