Read this before going to the store.
I came into JD Sports today to buy a pair of Nike Shox for my sister. They were the last pair and on display, so naturally, I asked to take a quick look before buying them at the counterâ especially since they were $200.
Unfortunately, the lady at the counter â I didnât catch her name, but she was Black with long eyelashes and long nails â gave me serious attitude just for asking. She sighed, huffed, and made it clear she was annoyed. Even my mother, who was with me, noticed how rude she was. We both left feeling very uncomfortable and disrespected.
What made it even more upsetting is that we were polite the entire time. I was respectful, calm, and simply asked to check the shoes, which is totally reasonable given the price and that they were display items. There was no reason for the way we were treated.
To be honest, it left us wondering if we were treated that way because of how we looked â especially since my mother wears a hijab. We donât want to jump to conclusions, but the way we were treated felt off and left us questioning whether it was personal or even discriminatory. Itâs a terrible feeling to walk away wondering if your background or religion played a role in how someone treated you.
We had a beautiful day otherwise. Every other store we went to had incredibly welcoming and professional staff. This was the only negative experience we had the entire day â and unfortunately, it stood out in the worst way.
JD Sports, I hope you take this seriously and look into it. According to our receipt, the salesperson number was 0438116 at register 3, around 5 PM...
Read moreThe WORST store I have been to in a while almost called corporate but I figured why waste my energy I'll just make sure I take all my shoes BACK to that location going forward. I went to return a online order I didn't have a paper receipt but I figured it's on line so NO BIG DEAL. First I was told I could exchange then and I looked around but they didn't have anything to my son liking. After I informed them it was nothing I wanted one of the associates informed me I couldn't return without a receipt they could have come from foot locker or anywhere. I assume the next guy was the manager he said I needed a paper receipt. I shop on line all the time and most stores can look up online orders but anywho. Then I waited in line like everyone else but the manager asked me to step aside while I look my order up on line to service another lady with a return. I moved over located my on line receipt he still acted like he had a problem. He then began to ask me how did I pay $189 for some shoes that were $230 well sir there was a sale on line AND I had some rewards. I'm not sure why it mattered because you didn't give me my rewards back and then he asked me for my ID I'm SUPER CONFUSED you didn't just ask the lady in front of me. It felt like I had stole the shoes with a receipt please help me understand what that...
Read moreAbsolutely ridiculous, I seen some of your previous reviews on here and it just validated what Iâm about to say. It seems race is a big issue, came in today to buy my daughter some new shoes for the school year, werenât busy and my husband wearing his cowboy hat got no help, I took the shoes and was acknowledged right away for the shoes we wanted. No one ever followed up with those once they seen I was with him or even acknowledged after waiting a good amount of time to get the shoe size I asked for, we ended up just leaving. You would think all of these reviews that have been left going back months that this problem would be resolved by now. Missing out on a lot of money because of discrimination against certain people? Doesnât seem worth it to me. Very petty, not how you do business. I would say if itâs not taken care of youâll continue to see post like these from others. Also, I can probably bet that since it hasnât been taken care of management or ownership of this store is to blame as well. Do...
