STAFF WAS SO RUDE. AT BOTH BUILDINGS!!!! I had a coupon in the mail that was scrated with a light line on the coupon "secret area" and the lady at country gatherings Almost refused to take my coupon completely because it wasn't perfect ... as if I had scratched it before hand.. The Checkout lady at the village gift barn with the white hair at the front is SO MEAN TOO doesn't smile or wish for you to come back .. and has ALSO given such an attitude when we use any 10$ off or a coupon they send us ! we live over an hour away and LOVE THIS STORE. but I nor my family will not be returning due to the way we are treated time and time again... I mean it's really not that hard to be nice in a customer service setting ? I think it's the atmosphere with the young girls there and it's really sad... I'll be spending my money elsewhere. You guys make it really hard to spend money in your store... I WILL SAY the flower arrangement gal in the Village Gift Barn is an angel I think all your girls should take notes from her on how customer service...
Read moreSUMMARY: overpriced tourist trap. PROS: wide variety of scented candle brands. Extensive fairy garden plants and accessories. Extensive corporate brands of home decor items and costume jewelry. Convenient to Berlin foot traffic. Rewards program. CONS: most items are not made locally, much less in Ohio. Consistenty rude, condescending, unprofessional customer service staff and store management contrasting most other businesses in the area whose employees are friendly and actually sell products and goods made locally in the area at reasonable prices. Rewards program communications are outsourced to different text and email companies and no one seems to know what the other is doing or have authority to do anything except make excuses and deflections. Unprofessional, poor management.
I've been patronizing this store for years. I used to recommend it. Their customer service is going down the larger they become. I'm moving my patronage to other local businesses who value their customers - and...
Read moreBeen shopping here every year on our yearly trip to Amish country for the last 7 or so years. Everything is overpriced and cheaply made, but that's to be expected. Thats not my issue with this business. As of our visit on April 6, 2021, not a single employee was wearing a mask, and only about half of the shoppers were wearing a mask or wearing it correctly. I could forgive the Magnolia knockoff atmosphere (I'm a white woman, sometimes I want to pretend I'm Joanna Gaines) and I could forgive the hugely marked up cheap imported inventory (a lot of it is super cute and on trend), but seeing how reckless this business is being with public health made me leave after only 10 minutes of shopping. No one likes wearing masks guys. We have to do it to love our neighbor- our immunocompromised neighbor, our elderly neighbor, our chronically ill neighbor. I hope they do better...
