I have shopped her for years - purchased jewelry, clothes, home products. A few months ago, I purchased a candle warmer that had a nightlight inside. Within a few months, the wheel that turns the unit on/off broke. I took it back to Berlin Village Gift Barn and spoke with the manager. She insisted I call the company myself to rectify the situation. I also spoke to another sales clerk who was very rude and told me, "Look at it from our point of view. We don't want to be out of $14.99." I called the company Candle Warmers and the customer service rep was astounded. She said all the sales clerk had to do was switch out the unit and the store would have been reimbursed. She stated this was done all the time and was surprised the store didn't know the policy - or at least tried to assist me further. Bottom line: the store would rather lose a long-time customer over $14.99. Apparently, this store is owned by an Amish woman. I guess greed is rampant everywhere, regardless of one's faith background. It would seem this woman has perpetuated such culture among her staff. It is important to note other shoppers overhead the exchange with the sales clerk and stated they, too, had similar encounters with the store and had not shopped there for some time....
