I know this was only the second year this fair has been going on and all and all not a bad start, however there is room and flat out a need for improvement. The parking and mini shuttle buses should be a option but not the only means of getting there and if so they need to double the fleet because almost a hr and half wait just to step onsite instantly can leave a sour taste. Thank got for max the goat there to help lighten the mood. On that note they need more performers like her to be interacting with the guest since they are just set up in the field its the only way to set the scene and mood that should be expected of any renfaire. If you have mobility issues this is a great location as most if the area is flat. The main stage area and im being generous calling it that desperatly needs proper seating and new sound equipment. You only could hear them if you were leaning on the fence and that was even a struggle. That whole area seemed like a after thought with hay as last minute minute seating option. The performers shows were very very short and lack luster and every one also had not proper sound equipment and couldnt be heard unless sitting in the front row. Finally the food. Decent options however shame on the turkey leg vendor next to the delicious smelling bbq charging $19 dollars for the worst inedible silver skin covered turkey leg i have ever seen. I wouldnt offer that to a homeless dog let alone a paying customer. They should be avoided like the plague asked to never come back. It was the worst fair food i have ever received. I believe the bar is set by mount hopes renfaire in manheim and this has quite a way to go before they reach that level. If they listen to some constructive feed back and properly fund the needed upgrades it has a chance to get there. Here is to hoping for some rapid improvements from a eager...
Read moreSecond year attending and it was bigger & better than ever! I appreciate that event when tickets are sold out it wasn’t so crowded that you felt like cattle.
I got my hair braided, had very good Filipino food from a food truck - they had a truck for crepes, a traditional hoagie & burger truck, a fries with lots of toppings truck in addition to the traditional turkey legs & the bbq tent. Great selections and lines were shot 20 mins at lunchtime. Pretty normal lines.
The falcon show was bigger than Philly Faire, they had horses too. Music & magic shows were fun. Vendors had a nice selection too.
Lastly, free self guided tour of the TileWorks, including a table where you could make stuff with clay & a couple places kids could build with real tiny bricks.
It’s a temporary Faire, so not purpose built like Pennsylvania or Maryland, but the atmosphere/backdrop of the TileWorks gives it a medieval feel.
We had a great time and would go...
Read moreReally interesting venue with a great little faire. Vendors were really nice, the acts were phenomenal and the food was awesome, albeit a bit packed at times (food trucks could totally be arranged better, and might do well with a couple more). I will also say that once the main lot filled up, the off-site parking is only a short walk away - but a longer wait for a shuttle. Thankfully, they had performers in the lot to entertain us while we waited for the shuttle, which was fun.
All in all, for a first-year faire, it was a great weekend! Definitely going again next year if...
