This place is amazing. It's family-oriented, the staff is wonderful. One of the few places in the community that Fosters creativity and challenges kids to think outside of the box. From the Lego section, to the giant Lite-Brite wall, to the pottery, to the art engagement, this place has it all. Personally I use this place as an indoor rock climbing gym. The yearly rate is fair, people also climbing are very respectful. Rarely ever find a of people at the climbing wall. There is always something going on here. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays have extended late night adult only hours. These are ours set aside for adults, and adults only. From time to time, there is a birthday party or something going on and it gets fairly busy. But it's easy to work around, the place is huge. The owner Jordan truly loves what he does. And the staff that works there also has a passion in everything they do in that place. the staffs passion for that place can be seen in everything they do. Great place! I highly recommend it to anyone, especially someone looking for a cool thing to do with kids. Truly a buried gem and unique treasure for the Dubuque area. Dubuque wouldn't be the...

They love the oversize Lite-Brite wall and also enjoy racing Lego cars. They can get some energy out with the climbing wall, too! Dress really warm if you plan to stay for a while- they keep it really cold in there (uncomfortably cold- this is the only reason I don't give five stars). They were very accommodating of my latex allergy when I asked that a private party keep their balloons inside the private party room. I highly recommend this location for kids to learn through play! I only wish we could...
Read moreI have experienced Creative Adventure Lab both as a class participant and as a parent taking my child to play in the lab.
Back when it was known as Matter Creative, I attended a painting class, pottery painting, and a few stained glass workshops. While I do not fancy myself an artist, I still had a great time and learned new skills.
Now that our son is a little older, we have a family membership and stop in to let him play. He loves the giant blue blocks and the light peg wall. While he is a little small for the rock climbing wall, he still loves running around on the cushy floor in the rock climbing area.
It's a great play to go and just be creative in whatever way makes...
