DISCLAIMER: I go to this gym early morning, late morning, afternoon, mid-day, evening, late evening, twilight hours.. so i've experienced what it feels like all days of the week and times in the day. With that being said.. here.we.go..
When it comes to gyms in the world, I have to say Life Time Fitness has really done their homework and delivers with a solid A+. The equipment is all generally top of the line and in excellent working condition, their other gym facilities are also generally top notch and more than you can ask for from a health club.
From cutting edge equipment, multiple machines, a full room dedicated to cardio, fitness classes, private showers, a health cafe, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, dry and steam sauna, fresh towels, private lockers, to friendly and helpful staff, comfortable lounge with leather sofas with a big screen tv, advanced child care center, well run and organized child activities and summer camp, children swimming lessons, rock climbing wall, rock climbing lessons, basketball courts, squash courts, and spa & beauty center (and more) LifeTime Fitness really delivers and is imho the best "bang for the buck" health club i have been to.. EVER (and yes, i've been to a LOT of gyms in my lifetime *no pun intended). That being said, I will mention that this club is not your cheap run of the mill gym that advertises $10 a month like some of the other clubs around town. This is a solid, bonafide, "you get what you pay for" type of gym that aims to deliver the highest quality gym around and they do that well, may i add.. very well.
However, I will mention that it is not a perfect gym and has some negative points that I will mention here. For starters, this gym is popular. Very popular at certain times and can therefore get crowded during those peak hours. Parking can become uncomfortably difficult to find during the peak hours, so keep that in mind. TIP: Even during the busiest of hours, there will be parking available, just possibly on the outskirts of the parking lot which is a humongous parking lot mind you, anyways. Also, I have noticed on some mornings when I come into the gym, there can be some free weights that are not re-racked and you can tell that the staff was unable to fully clean the gym perfectly the night prior. Being that it is a 24 hour gym, this is completely understandable however, and I can not dock any stars nor criticize too harshly for that. Also, I have noticed some people will leave used towels on the ground after they use them which screams, "come on friends, your momma is not going to pick up after you here.. please.." but i digress..
A few additional points, their outdoor pool is amazing. Only open during the warmer months, equipped with a large slide that is restricted to those that can swim comfortably. Parents Take Note: Toddlers may have to pass a small swim test to qualify using the slide. They have two spas jacuzzi hot tubs inside furnished with a small waterfall that is generally open 24 hours, and a nice outdoor hot tub which is open for limited hours.
Ask for Lindsey Hislop if you're interested to check out the club or have questions regarding membership, but I'm pretty sure all the membership coordinators at Lifetime are solid, Rachel Duque if you have children who are interested in summer camp and other children related activities, and all their front desk associates are solid.
Lastly, note they have locations all throughout the United States. It was a relatively simple process for me to get a guest pass to be able to use their facilities while traveling to other states.
If you're looking for a health club experience like no other, check out Life Time Fitness of Sugarloaf, GA and pursue with confidence.
Thank you and best wishes to the LifeTime Fitness team and have a very positive day.
all the best, Brian
p.s. "the juice is definitely worth the squeeze."

Read moreHere is my experience today and I am looking for the right people to file a complaint since the most of their local staff do not care.
I would like to file an official complaint against the Sugarloaf location for their bad customer service and ignorance towards cancelling members. I initially had an issue regarding the unjustified one month advance notice to cancel the membership. After today, I realized the issue does not just end at their bad cancellation policy. On May 30th. 2012, I had tried to reach xxxxx who is the general manager of the Sugarloaf location for the cancellation policy, but I had no luck. All I could do is sending out an online message to xxxxx through the Lifetime website, leaving a voice message on his phone (it could have been recorded more than one as I was trying to leave multiple messages on his phone), and contacted several different people at the location to reach him. All this communication attempts happened starting 4:45pm until 6:00 pm. I had no luck getting his response on the same day. Today, May 31st, 2012, I walked in and asked xxx(who is a staff) to see if I could talk to xxxxx in person. The only response I could get from her was to sit on the couch and wait for him. Obviously I did not have any issues waiting for him. Like indicated by xxx, xxxxx may have been dealing with another issue upstairs. However I did not know how to recognize him, so I ASKED xxx if one of staff can LET xxxxx KNOW THAT I AM HERE FOR A TALK. The response I got from xxx was to “Go and WALK UP TO THE WALL and I should be able to LOCATE HIS PICTURE so that I can FIND him at some point today”. This was THE MOST RIDICULOUS thing I ever heard today while I was there. The right response should have been and she surely could tell me that one of the staff will contact him, but does not know when he may be coming down. I question Lifetime’s employment process. I definitely think you hired a wrong person for that position. xxx and other staff members did not put any efforts at least to let xxxxx know that I was waiting. It was such a bad customer experience. Once I was able to talk with two gentlemen upstairs, one of them took me to the back office where xxxxx was. I was able to see xxxxx after struggling to find him for about 40 minutes (I arrived at the location around 7:50pm and saw him around 8:30 pm). The time did not need to be wasted if xxx bothered just to contact Robert. My problem with xxxxx was that he was not being honest with me about returning my messages. His excuse was that he surely was going to reach me within 24 hours. If that was a truth, it had been more than 24 hours since I tried to talk with him, which I pointed that out to him. Then he said “it is not the end of day YET”. I was looking at the wall clock pointing at 8:40pm. According to him, he surely WAS GOING TO call me at night, and somehow I happened to be there and it was not the end of the day. It was a sad repetition of changing words at his convenience. I cannot bear your bad customer service, dishonesty, and the unjustified cancellation policy. I would like to file an appropriate complaint against Lifetime. Please let me know which channel I should take to contact the management at the corporate office. What’s written here is not all. It is a just brief of my concerns. What an astonishment to hear that I should locate his picture on the wall so that I can find him before the day ends.
I sent the above message through their website tonight after their ignorant attitude. Please share your experience at this location. It is such a hide and seek game that it is hard to find the general manager at...
Read moreSimilarly to what other reviews have stated, I also have to confirm that the front desk staff is rude. Long story short, we’ve had multiple interactions with a woman at the front desk (also pictured in a photo from a different review, wearing a pink shirt, with glasses, shoulder length hair) that were unpleasant. There’s a difference between being assertive versus outright rude, and she was rude while being dismissive every time we’ve had to interact with her.
My husband has been a Lifetime member for over a decade, and recently added me and our child onto his membership. We don’t go often, and I’ve never been asked to take a photo. This time, I was told by the woman at the front desk, “you need to take a picture”. I asked everyone at the front desk if I could take it another time, and she responded with her back facing me, with a snappy tone, “no cause it’s been too long”. She could’ve at least came up to the side of the desk where I was at, and spoken to me face to face and been polite.
Another time, when my husband was alone at Lifetime, working, he had to go in and out of the building because he left stuff in his car. Mind you, she (the same employee working the front desk that I mentioned above) saw him come in and out multiple times, so she knew who he was, still insisted that he re scan his phone every time he came in and out. His phone was left in the locker, so it was just excessive to inconvenience members like that, when she just saw him walk out. There’s been a couple of other unpleasant interactions we’ve had with her, but I can’t even remember them all. Her overall demeanor is rude and condescending, which shouldn’t be tolerated in a customer service position.
Childcare here is outrageous. Other than the couple of young women who work the mornings during the weekday, the staff there do not know how to care for younger children. It was my mistake for leaving our son before he could talk, to tell me what happened, but I came back to the room with him just sitting there crying alone. One mom on another review mentioned they were discriminating against Asian children?! My child is half Asian half black, so I don’t know if that played a part, now that I read her review… either way, I never dropped him off again after that.
We only come here out of convenience, and because of the swim staff. They are the sweetest and will always go above and beyond for the kids there. We absolutely love the manager of the...
