If considering booking an event or large gathering, I would strongly reconsider. Price is low but you will end up paying a considerable amount in confusion and miscommunication.
While the staff onsite were helpful and pleasant to work with, we were disappointed to find out there was no bathroom in store that the ladies could use. I was told immediately upon arriving that the bathroom onsite was dirty and not suitable for guests. I would have expected it to be cleaned prior to an event that was booked weeks in advance. It was inconvenient for us to navigate to a public restroom in the mall.
The AC was out during our event causing general discomfort, especially once one of the ceiling fans also went out.
There were unauthorized people flowing in and out during our event even though there was a sign outside stating that the store would be closed for a private party.
4.. I was under the impression that the ladies would be welcomed to individually pick-up their finished ceramics, not only because this was agreed on via email but because Bree reinforced the sentiment to me and the others during our event. We were told to write our names down on note paper to attach to our pieces for individually coordinated pickup. We were not made aware of the change in arrangement until members reported that they were turned away after arriving at ABC Pottery. For context, most of the attendees live about 45 minutes away from Sugarloaf Mills so this was frustrating to say the least. After speaking with Samantha about this issue, she reassured me that ABC would honor our original agreement and allow individual pickup but then gave both boxes of ceramics to our CFO to bring home herself five minutes later without my knowledge. To me, that was not only unprofessional but dishonest. There are several reasons I emphatically pushed for individual pickup. It is almost virtually impossible to find a common date and time for around 45 people to meet up and grab their things and it is now a burden on me to distribute and organize. I would greatly appreciate an explanation as to why pieces could not be picked up individually as I opened the boxes, and they are all individually wrapped and easy to separate. This has caused me a lot of trouble and I am forced to take accountability and answer to my members about this miscommunication. I will be tirelessly coordinating individual pickups for the foreseeable future.
UPDATE- After being forced to take home our pieces and coordinating pickup, there are pieces missing from our boxes. I'm not sure how or why as we have been told they were "unable to separate pieces". This has become a headache for me and my group and I'm ultimately sorry we...
Read moreI went into ABC pottery a few weeks ago with a small Mary figurine for a Nativity. It was a replacement piece for one that my mom painted in the 1970s. They helped us find the right kind of paint (because of the material of the piece, it had to be acrylic). Mom (now 84) and I worked on the piece for a couple of hours. I came back later on my own to do some antiquing, but I am no expert. Tracy showed me how to do the antiquing. I worked on it for several hours and had to leave. Tracy graciously said she'd wait for it to dry and finish it up for me. It turned out beautifully, and I am so grateful that she took the time to help me and to work on the piece. This Nativity set has basically become a family heirloom, and I was gutted when I saw that the Mary piece was missing this past Christmas. The set is now complete again thanks to ABC and Tracy. I'm attaching a picture of the whole set and the Mary piece she helped me and mom...
Read moreWe went there for just a walk around. They have pretty decent collection for pottery. We end up sitting down and preparing an article for about 3 hrs! Yes, my daughter loved it. They said it will take about a week to get it ready (to dry and bake) and it would be food safe (can be actually used to serve food in) so I will wait until I get my hands on it. But it was an exceptional experience without any doubt. Tracey and other staff was very helpful in picking up colors, explaining about process and answering any questions if you may have. At no point, it felt like I was asking too much. Prices are reasonable and vary by articles. You may find paying $30 for something can be found for $5, but personal touch kids get while making it is priceless, that's what I realized when my daughter finished it. So I really recommend to...
