Yami Japan Sushi And Hibachi — Restaurant in Duluth

I ordered the Tempuration Roll and the steak & shrimp hibachi meal. The sushi was great! I have no complaints. It was very tasteful and the roll was quite large and filling. The steak and shrimp had no flavor whatsoever. The fried rice that came with my hibachi was well cooked. The vegetables that came with my hibachi meal were also cooked well, but it was an extremely small portion. Unlike regular hibachi, Yami didn't have the ginger (brown) sauce that usually comes alongside the yum sauce. The meal also didn't come with the salad. You had to choose between the soup OR the salad. For the price that I paid, I'd rather order takeout from an actual hibachi restaurant and get the full meal/ experience. Yami Japan was good, but not great. I won't be back... there are far better choices within a 5...

I made a typo mistake on my order and meant to put no caviar by putting “no calamari” on my orange crunch roll, which is a cooked sushi roll. I can’t eat caviar because it’s a serious risk to my pregnancy. So it arrived to my house with caviar on it, so I called their restaurant to ask if it’s at least pasterized and the woman on the phone barely understood English & had no clue what I was asking! So I asked if she could ask someone else and she literally said that no one else speaks English.. That is ridiculous!!!!!! They are running a business and no one speaks well to enough to answer customer questions!! Now I have to throw my whole sushi dish away & wasted $10! They need to have someone that speaks English fluently for instances like this. I’m very upset that I could not get anyone...

Beware! This place has new owners. It is definitely not the same food. Just bought a hibachi steak bento box. The steak was supposed to be cooked medium and it was raw. It also had no flavor. We had to throw it out. The spicy tuna sushi was made with ground tuna, instead of the whole piece of tuna like before. They were very small with hardly any rice on them. They might think about using sushi rice, since it is a sushi restaurant. Very bland. I think it is safe to say that the quality is questionable. The price has also gone up.
