My family and I are moving from Downtown Chicago to Duluth MN planning on buying at least three new beds for our new apartment. Weāre new to the area so just stopped by the first furniture place we thought was fitting; however within MINUTES of our arrival we went back to the bed section and as anyone would we laid on the beds to see our comfort level. Immediately a worker Donna came back and just stared at us so being polite we asked if we were allowed to be back there... She said quickly answered us yes but just sat on a bed and stared at us making us feel very uncomfortable while picking out our mattress. Then she left and we continued to look.
Shortly after, I found a mattress I very much liked and was possibly going to buy so I called my mom over to look at all the different settings and try them out before we purchased it. Right away another employee came over and told us to get off the bed and to put it back to its original setting. We were very chocked at her attitude and how she treated customers because we were in no way being disruptive or ruining any mattresses. We were looking to buy 3 new mattresses in fact.
We then tried to let another employee know our trouble but she went along treating us all like we were kids just playing around.
We went into Scheidermanās Furniture with the intention of buying THREE mattresses but within 30 minutes we ended up leaving empty handed and mistreated.

I worked with Joe Perfetti at the Duluth location. Joe met with me several times to help me with design details for a house that I purchased recently was remodeling. Joe helped with paint selections, light fixtures, and many other aspects in addition to furniture selections. Joe provided clear rationale for all recommendations. A contractor who was working for me said that a certain paint color that we had selected was too dark when he started painting with it and urged me to change to a different paint. The contractor thought that the paint should have more contrast with the trim so that the trim would stand out more. I called and talked to Joe, as Joe had helped us select the paint colors. Joe came out to my house that same day and took a look at the work in progress. Joe said that the paint will not be as dark once the paint dries. Joe also said that the goal is not to highlight the trim. Joe said that drawing attention to the trim is NOT the goal. Once the paint dried, my contractor agreed that it was the right choice. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the color.
I am confident that Joe cares about helping me make decisions that I will be happy. I bought two couches, a chair and a bench from Schneiderman's so far. I will buy all my furniture from Schneiderman's in the future because of the great experience I have had working with Joe Perfetti and my confidence that he will help me make interior design decisions that I will...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEasily the worst furniture shopping experience I have ever had. Nothing went well from start to finish. Had to wait 2+ months for non-special order couch and chair, then we got to try out their return policy and had to wait an additional 2+ weeks for delivery while they were remodeling their warehouse, On the day of the 2nd delivery, I had to leave work a couple hours early and waited... and waited.. and waited ...I finally called them after hours had passed and they said they weren't coming since their truck had broken down. I should have received a call to let me know that but didn't. And finally when they said there would be no charge for the second delivery, they tacked on not only the delivery charge of $79 but an additional $79 pick up fee, When I called them to complain, the manager was supposed to call me but I got only the salesperson as a go- between telling me that they could only see their way to refunding $79 instead of the whole amount that they overcharged us. For the record, the other two big furniture shops in town give you free delivery if you spend thousands of dollars at their store, they don't try an nickel and dime you to death. They are probably your better option.
UPDATE It was nice of them to reply to my comment, but as sincere as they sounded, it has been almost 2 weeks and nobody reached out to me like they said they would in their response. Just one more empty promise. To be honest, I wasn't exactly holding my breath waiting...
