Hobby Lobby — Local services in Dundee Township

I always find what I need at Hobby Lobby. Recently, it saved me from failing to deliver a promised project. I wood burn by hand custom art onto wood. A family member requested a sign for their wedding and reception. The cork board I wanted to use turned out to be a terrible idea because my pattern wasn't transferring clearly... so I needed a new plan and fast. I found a 'tombstone' shaped piece of wood with a convenient kickstand that was the perfect size for my project (I needed larger than 18x24 and the wood was about 20x30.)

While the wood itself was not ideal for a clean burn line and was also extremely temperature sensitive, I still managed to finish the project. I feel satisfied with the results because beggars can't be choosers, and it still turned out beautifully. Even though Amazon could've delivered a more ideal wood, for artist wood burning, the same day, nothing compares to Hobby Lobby's project oriented products and being able to see and touch in person. Precut, pre-assembled, in various sizes, and even before the sale price, I felt it was reasonably priced at $25-ish. There were so many awesome things in the aisle that I bought a few more items for future projects.

Side note, for people looking to start a hobby, this is a great place to pick up starter items for a fair price. This is where I purchased my first wood-burning tool before I graduated to a more expensive tool. Hobby Lobby is truly a gem! The customer service is incredible—staff go above and beyond to assist. On my recent visit, an employee not only helped me find what I needed but also took the time to brainstorm creative solutions for my project. Their enthusiasm and knowledge made my shopping experience so much better. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch their name, but they deserve huge kudos. The store offers great prices, and the variety of products ensures you’ll find everything for your creative needs.

Myself and my fiancé had a terrible experience this afternoon during our check out Michaela was the cashier and her customer service was horrible after a different customer who had just begun to get check out noticed a crack in a frame and asked if she could leave her items and go get a undamaged frame. Michaela said Ofcourse and began to scan her products while the customer walked away I asked politely if my fiancé and I could check out since we only had one item. She gave us a glare and said “wait one second” and proceeded to scan the non present customers items. It took this customer the better part of 5 minutes to return and we sat in line while the cashier in the next line checked out 6 other customers so we moved over to that line.
