We heard so many good things about this place that my husband and I decided to go to celebrate our anniversary yesterday. Our reservation was for 5:15pm...we arrived by 5:05pm and the host told us to wait...we waited until our actual reservation time. I am mentioning this because I thought we could've be seated before since there were many empty tables when we went into the dinning room...But ok no problem. We were seated in our table by the host and she left a card on our table where the details of our reservation was written, such as the time, how many people, and the special ocassion (our anniversary). We waited for about 10min for our waiter to come, he took the card, and asked us if we wanted some waters, we said yes and we were about to ask for drinks (cocktail and beer) but he left. He came with the waters five minutes later and we were able to place our drinks order. For appetizers we ordered the sweet chili calamari and over the border egg rolls that were really good. For our main dishes I ordered Roasted chicken risotto and my husband ordered the BBQ ranch chicken salad. While we were waiting for our main dishes the waiter offered us the wine membership and explained us a little bit about it. About our main dishes my risotto was very liquid and didn't have the Canadian bacon that was supposed to have. My husband's salad was ok but some of his avocados were still with the skin. The chicken in the risotto was the same chicken that my husband had in his salad. The waiter came when we were half way eating the main dish to let us know that if we signed up for the membership we could have a free wine tasting and we told him that we will think about it. Then he came back and we asked for some to go boxes for our leftovers, and before he left I asked him for the dessert menu since we weren't t even asked if we would like a dessert. I ordered the Flourless chocolate torte. We waited like 10min or more for the dessert, we got frustrated so once my husband saw our waiter he cancelled the order and asked for the check. A minute later the waiter showed up with the dessert and the check! my husband said that we cancelled the desdert order but the waiter said that it was already ready and left. We were charged for the desert that we cancelled!!!!! Plus the dessert was really small and came on a large plate where I thought they will write happy anniversary or something. Our anniversary wasn't acknowledged at all, not even a "happy anniversary" from our waiter who had the card with the details of our reservation. I felt that the waiter was more focused on selling us the wine membership than anything. The main dishes weren't what we expected for the price that we paid. Drinks were ok and appetizers were good. Would we come back? Probably not. I'm somehow disappointed because I was expecting more for the...

Food: Prime Rib Sandwich & Fries
I ordered the Prime Rib Sandwich with fries, and it was absolutely fantastic. The sandwich was super flavorful, juicy, and tender, with the perfect balance of seasoning and texture. The bread was fresh, holding everything together without overpowering the meat, and every bite was packed with rich, savory goodness.
The fries were a great complement—crispy, well-seasoned, and the perfect side to an already incredible sandwich. The portion size was just right, leaving me satisfied but not overly stuffed.
Drinks: Red Sangria – A Must-Try!
Now, let’s talk about the Red Sangria—this drink is to die for! I’m not a big alcohol drinker at all, but this sangria was so smooth, fruity, and refreshing that it didn’t even taste like alcohol. It’s perfectly balanced, not too sweet, not too strong, and dangerously easy to drink. If you go to Cooper’s Hawk, you absolutely must try it—it’s easily one of the best sangrias I’ve ever had.
Atmosphere & Service
The atmosphere at Cooper’s Hawk is elegant yet comfortable, making it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The restaurant has a modern, upscale feel without being pretentious, and the wine-tasting area adds a unique touch to the experience.

Read moreThis was my first time at the new location in Algonquin, and was excited to have one closer to home! The restaurant itself was gorgeous, but unfortunately, my experience here was not anywhere near what it had been at other locations. It took almost 15 mins for the server to initially come to the table, and then once she took the drink order, she did not return to the table for another 15 mins. We never received any water. I had asked for sweetener for my iced tea and ended up having to ask another employee because the server never brought any. I ordered the Chicken Madeira and had high hopes, as the description sounded delicious. Unfortunately, it was not. The skin on the chicken was tough, and I didn't end up eating much of it. Considering the cost of this item, I expected more. Another person in my group ordered the pork chops, and they were disappointed in how fatty they were, leaving almost half of it inedible. We also had an issue with a child's order of spaghetti and meatballs, as one of the meatballs was not fully cooked and completely pink inside. Our drinks also sat empty for a majority of the time we were there. She never came over to ask how everything was after the food was brought out. We had to flag her down, mid-meal to ask for our check, and then it took 20+ minutes for her to bring it. By that point, we just wanted to leave, so we gave her payment immediately, thinking she would be right back, but again, it took longer than it should. While I understand that it was prime dinner time and the restaurant was packed, I was disappointed in the service we received. All of the other servers seemed to be very attentive to their tables, checking on them, bringing refills, bread, etc. The other people in our section also seemed irritated at their service as well, and one couple even asked to speak to the manager. We were there for 2 hours, which seemed like a long time for a smaller party, just ordering dinner (no appetizers, no wine, no dessert). While I will not let my experience at this particular location tarnish previous experiences at Coopershawk, I will most certainly never return to this location...
