getting worse. i go to this aldi a decent amount of times and its getting worse. used to be good. yesterday i went there and my order came to $7.44. i gave the cashier a $20 bill. normally i have change on me. but this time i didnt. so the cashier oddly asks if i have 44 cents. i checked and double checked and i just didnt have change. so she stared at me for 2 minutes and says “ok, maybe next time, im watching you and ill recognize you”. i get it was probably a joke, but how dare someone say that. even as a paying customer, i said sorry i dont have any change. how is someone allowed to say this? also beware, occasionally there is an older gentleman in the parking lot who goes up to customers after theyre done shopping and politely asks to take ur shopping cart like hes doing u a favor. hes a scammer looking to collect quarters from the shopping carts. keep in mind, aldi DOES NOT have any cart attendants that they employ. to top that, the store doesnt have a number to call to explain your experience and concerns. awful experience. be careful...
Read moreI have been shopping at Aldi for at least 10 years. Having just relocated to Dayton I was hoping that there was one nearby then Covid happened. Christmas 2020 I really wanted to bake our traditional holiday cookies to delivery curbside for family members. Dried fruits, raw nuts, dates and baking supplies are things I always buy at Aldi and that's why I can afford to make so many cookies! I was thrilled to find this Aldi! Not too far away and totally stocked with our favorite European specialty foods for the holidays plus a well stocked and organized baking section! I was so happy to have found everything that I needed plus more. I also have to mention the staff. I had a stroke that left my L hand weak and uncoordinated. The cashier was so kind and helpful... honestly, that's been true for every Aldi I have ever been to. The staff is always kind and helpful. Recently a new Aldi has opened much closer to our home. It's a beautiful new store but I still drive the extra 4 miles to shop at this store! Thank you, Aldi! You...
Read moreAldi was my secret spot for cheap groceries but that had fair quality product. However, in recent months I have seen the quality of the food they sell not at it's best. The fruit mainly looks beat up and often times picked over. To mention at times it is not good. Same with the meat, chicken and ground beef usually is picked over and appears to look not so fresh. I have also noticed a incline in price. The "Benton" cookies which can be the equivalent to oreos or chips ahoy, were .95 cents and now they can run 1.55 and up. I know some may say it is only a few cents, however I believe people go to aldi because they tend to be cheaper than other larger grocery stores and big name products. (Do not loose site of that aldi) Last but not least, I hope you are not in a rush in checking out. The lines are horrible and usually there are only 1-2 registers open. It's a deterrent to even go into the store seeing the lines extend...
