Unfortunately, the overall shopping experience at this new location falls far below the standards I have come to expect from HomeGoods. They should’ve stayed in North Bergen, because the store itself is consistently cluttered and unorganized, which makes it difficult to shop comfortably. There’s always big rolling carts in the isle, shelves are over stocked, on several occasions the bathrooms either smell unclean or have a stale smell, are regularly unclean, toilet paper on the floor, empty soap dispensers, which is both unpleasant and unacceptable for a retail environment. Overall, the store often appears unkempt and poorly maintained.
In addition, It appears there are issues with staff members, either looking drained and overworked. Please give the workers better schedules and the newer staff more hours. Why, because some of the older employees come across as overworked, rude, and dismissive toward customers. The older lady needs to remove the mask because Covid ended years ago and customer’s cannot hear her with a face muzzle - it’s unprofessional, the mask looks a bit dirty and tacky now. On several occasions unprofessional behavior was displayed and it creates an uncomfortable shopping environment. It also appears to explain why younger staff members never seem to stay long, as the turnover rate at this location is noticeably high. Always new faces, but older staff members that are comfortable in their old ways lacking luster.
HomeGoods has built a strong reputation for quality products and a positive shopping atmosphere, which makes these issues even more disappointing. This location needs urgent attention to address cleanliness, store organization, and staff conduct in order to align with the values of the HomeGoods brand.
The new location was supposed to be an upgrade not a downgrade. Get a simple rag and dust done...
Read moreI had a bad experience with a sales person and another person on the floor, whom I believe was the manager. I found a small scented candle that was not priced and took my time looking around to find a similar one. I asked the sales person (Indian woman not that this the issue, just that I did not get her name or the manager's name who is also Indian) for assistance and she was very rude and abrupt and so was the manager. The manager insisted that the candle was part of a set which there was absolutely no set in sight and just curtly brushed me off instead of working with me to allow me to purchase this one little candle. Terrible customer service and no regard for the customer without whom there would be no HomeGoods or staff. Another problem in this store is that the aisles are to tight to move around; maybe too much merchandise. The people stocking the floor have the large bins they use blocking everything that customers can't even move around comfortably and when customers need to pass they can't! This store needs to be reconfigured so the customers can shop comfortably and the customer service needs to improve. My one good experience was the lovely lady who assisted me at...
Read moreHome Goods, a chain of home furnishing stores. This one is pretty big. They offer pretty much any type of furnishing for any room at affordable prices. Patio and kitchenwares. Picture frames, couches, and end tables. Bed comforters, rugs, and much more. They even have a section for pets. This location has a parking lot which they share with neighboring stores. Because of their proximity to several towns, they attract too many customers. This basically means that their lines are insanely long. If you have no problem queuing in a line, then stop on by. They do sell items that will not appear on there online store. I would still advise you to make your purchases online. They're shipping can be a bit expensive depending what you buy but I personally wouldn't mind paying $20 shipping instead of waiting 30 min...
